LSU executive meeting
DIMAPUR: Lirmen student union (LSU) has convened an executive meeting on September 4, 10am at the residence of treasurer (LKM). All the executives, secretaries, advisors and representatives from each unit/union have been requested to attend the meeting.
DC Dimapur on domestic LPG connection
DIMAPUR: Deputy Commissioner Dimapur Maong Aier has informed all responsible that under the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Regulation of Supply and Distribution order, an individual would not be permitted to have more than one domestic LPG connection. DC in a press statement has further informed that if any individual found in possession of more than one domestic LPG connection would be dealt with as per the provision of the law.
BSI jubilee planning board meeting
DIMAPUR: Bible Society of India, Dimapur Auxiliary would be celebrating its silver jubilee on November 6 and 7 at Lotha Baptist Church Dimapur. Preparation is on in full swing with K.Hocto IFS as planning board chairman, Editor Nagaland Post Geoffrey Yaden as convenor Souvenir and Programme Committee, Dito Savi as Convenor ARTC, Rev.S.Vitoshe Swu as Convenor Finance Committee. Meeting of silver jubilee planning board has been convened on September 3, 9 a.m at Kevichusa Hall, Bible House. Rev.Dr.Z.K.Rochill Auxiliary Secretary has informed all to attend the meeting and to submit whatever collection was done.
DC Kiphire informs on claim /objection
DIMAPUR: With regard to proposal for establishing Zisaji Presidency College Kiphire at Alikhong, Kiphire town DC Kiphire C.M Tsanglao has notified land owners to submit claim or objection to the proposed site of College within 30 days from the date of issue of this notice to the office of DC Kiphire. DC further informed that any complaint or objection lodged after the expiry of the date notified would not be entertained.
JNV state level science exhibition
Kohima: Jawarhar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Kohima would be hosting JNV State Level Science Exhibition for children, 2010 on September 3 at in the Vidyalaya premises. Pollen Tep, Deputy Director, School Education Govt of Nagaland will grace the exhibition as chief guest. A.Athikho, Principal JNV Kohima informed in a released here today.
DEO Kohima informs
Kohima: Eight All India Education Survey (8th AISES) schedules training would be conducted on September 7 at 10 am in the office of the DEO, Kohima. District Education Officer Kohima informed all DISs, SISs and co-ordinators of EBRCs under Kohima district to attend the training.
KSUK membership fee submission
Kohima: The Konyak Students’ Union Kohima has informed all the Konyak students studying in Kohima to submit the membership fee and stamp size passport to the respective college representatives to submit to the union office before September 4. Stating this in a release, President KSUK Bongyong Lemanghu also informed that the 27th Fresher’s meet will be held on September 11 next at Ura Academy, mission compound and any students who fail to attend the function will be penalize by the union.
KLCSU general meeting
Kohima: General meeting of Kohima Law College Students’ Union (KLCSU) has been convened on September 3 after the normal classes are over. All students are have been requested to attend the meeting . Union informed that absentees would be imposed a fine of Rs 100.
ATAN general meeting
DIMAPUR: Combined general meeting of ATAN has been convened on September 4, 3 p.m at ISBT, Puranabazar, Dimapur. ATAN has appealed all members to attend the meeting to sign ‘declaration’.
Naga Kuotsu Union meeting
Kohima: A Co-ordination meeting of the Naga Kuotsu Union has been convened on September 4 in the TU Building, Kohima Town Opposite NST Bus Station at 10 am. The meeting is convened to review the ongoing programme, a released issued by its General Secretary Keviyalie Kuotsu stated and request all the executive members, building committee and two representatives each of the union units to attend the meeting positively.
ANDESA emergency meeting
Kohima: The All Nagaland Diploma Engineer Service Association has convene an emergency meeting on September 7 at 11 am onwards at the Power Chief Conference Hall to discuss matter related to the association and service rule. Informing this, ANDESA General Secretary, Er.N.Thiya Jamir requested all the members of the association to attend the meeting without fail.
NGKD general meeting
DIMAPUR: General meeting of Nikuto Ghami Kuposhukulu Dimapur (NGKD) has been convened on September 4 at the residence of Lhokishe Shohe, Govt High School, Purana Bazar, at 9 am, therefore all the members residing in an around Dimapur are requested to attend the meeting.
NNWPSG discharges one
DIMAPUR: ‘Captain’ Benjamin s/o Hingba of Oklong village, Zeliangrong Region was discharged from active service of National Service on ill-health ground w.e.f August 13 allegedly on his request. Naga National Workers People Support Group (NNWPSG) Hq. Naga Army stated that Benjamin’s invaluable service rendered to the cause of Nation would be ever remembered and NNWPSG wished him providential protection throughout his life.
Dead body recovered
DIMAPUR: An unidentified dead body of a non-local male aged above 40 years was recovered from below Bor lengri iron bridge on Wednesday morning. Police sources added that the death was suspected to have been caused in a hit and run case by train. The body was later kept at the district hospital morgue. (Staff Reporter)
Dimapur police clarifies
DIMAPUR: Dimapur police on Wednesday clarified that the total amount of money which was reportedly given for the medical admission related case was not as reported earlier. They maintained that the amount was later found to be incorrect during the course of investigation and informed that the institutes concerned will refund the money without delay. (Staff Reporter)
SVUD meeting
DIMAPUR: Satakha village union Dimapur (SVUD) has convened a meeting on September 3, 3 pm at the residence of union banker Hokiye Tuccu, 4 mile Dimapur. All the office bearers have been requested to attend the meeting.
OSU joint meeting
DIMAPUR: Okotso student union (OSU) has convened a joint meeting on September 11, 10am at Lotha Hoho Ki, Dimapur near DC court junction. All the unit office bearers and jubilee committee members have been requested to attend the meeting.
SSUK freshers meet cum Mong Mong feast
Kohima: Sangtam Students’ Union Kohima (SSUK) would be organizing 27th freshers meet cum Mong Mong feast on September 6 at the State Academy Hall at 10 am with Kipili Sangtam, Chairman NSMDC as chief guest. Union has requested all the head of the educational institutions in and around Kohima to grant leave to all Sangtam students in their respective institution.
Kyong apex bodies plea to shun violence
DIMAPUR: In view of the prevailing situation in Wokha district where one Zaremo Odyuo was killed at Mekokla village at Mekokla village, the Kyong Hoho, Kyong Eloe Hoho, Kyong Students’ Union and Wokha district GB’s association have appealed to all sections of Naga National workers, monitoring Cell and supervisory Board to strictly adhere to the ceasefire ground rules so as to avoid such incidents in future. An emergency meeting of Kyong Hoho, Kyong Eloe Hoho, Kyong Students’ Union and Wokha District GB’s Association was held on August 29. Further, Hoho appealed to all concern to shun violence and fratricide killings in order to maintain peaceful atmosphere in the interest of general public. Chairman, Kyong Hoho and Gen. Secretary, Kyong Hoho Yansathung Jami, Michael Yanthan and Presidents of Kyong Eloe Hoho and Kyong Students’ Union Zuchobeni Ezung and Yiben Humtsoe stated that the incident which took place at Mekokla village was very unfortunate as it happened during such peaceful period of ceasefire within Nagaland. Further, the Hoho has appealed to all to shun violence and fratricide killings in order to maintain peaceful atmosphere in the interest of general public.
State observes National eye donation fortnight
Kohima: As part of the 25th National Eye Donation Fortnight which is observed from the 25th August to 8th September every year, a programme was held recently involving the students of the School of Nursing, Naga Hospital Kohima. During the programme, Dr. E. Phyantsuthung Sr. Eye Specialist and District Nodal Officer (NPCB) Kohima District gave a lecture on Transplantation of Human Organs Act 1995, the aims of the National Programme for Control of Blindness and a Power Point presentation on Eye Donation and Corneal Transplantation. As part of the activities of the NPCB Kohima District, free Cataract Surgeries with Intraocular Lens (IOL) Implants (sutureless/stitchless) along with free medicines are being conducted at Naga Hospital Kohima since February last. From February till August altogether 155 (one hundred fifty five) cataracts have been operated free of cost. Dr. E. Phyantsuthung stated this in a released here today. While informing that the service of free cataract surgeries with free medicines (for all operated cataract cases) is an ongoing programme, he asked the general public to avail the services by bringing cataract blind people to Naga Hospital Kohima.
ENPO headquarter cum secretariat inaugurated
DIMAPUR: Eastern Nagaland people’s organization (ENPO) headquarter office cum secretariat was inaugurated on August 27 at Tuensang by Neiwang Konyak, Minister for School Education & SCERT accompanied by Kipili Sangtam Parliamentary Secretary and R Tohanba Parliamentary Secretary. The function was held along with the central executive committee (CEC) of ENPO which was attended by members of CEC along with tribal heads and colleagues of federation units, frontal organizations, members of various committees and invites.
