Parliamentary secretary for transport & communication and mechanical engineering P. Dako Phom held a meeting with Nagaland state transport (NST) department officials on September 3 to discuss various grievances faced by department.
Dako Phom directed department officials, particularly enforcement officers/inspectors and ticket examiners to strictly enforce ticket-checking of passengers on the wayside and also to issue tickets to those travelling without tickets.
The parliamentary secretary also urged department officials to convert all mechanic grade-II “unproductive” staffs to cleaners as there were no cleaners available in department to look after NST buses.
Also taking note that Dimapur NST bus station being the biggest with 40-50 buses plying in different routes under one station superintendent, Dako Phom suggested in posting a AGM or DGM at Dimapur station for smooth functioning of administration and improvement of department revenue.
He further stressed on the importance of punctuality of NST bus services and urged department to provide punctual services to the public.
