NRSU detects anomalies in schools, PHC

Nyiro Range Students’ Union (NRSU) has expressed concern over a number of anomalies at various schools and primary health centers (PHC) under the range.
According to union vice president Libenthung Kikon, Nyiro Range Students’ Union detected anomalies during its visit to educational institutions, primary health centre and sub-centers under its jurisdiction from August 30 to September 1, as part of its annual tour.
Union stated that its team has found sub-centers at N. Longidang and Longsachung villages were functioning without medicines as the centers reportedly did not receive any medicines in the current year. Union also stated that the only primary health centers at Nyiro was running without water supply, electricity connection and poor infrastructure. With regard to educational institutions, Nyiro Range Students’ Union has pointed out that all Government Primary School under Nyiro range were functioning with shortage of teachers while Government Middle School N. Longidang had no math and science teachers. It also said no Hindi teachers were posted to primary schools despite Hindi textbooks being issued to them.
Further, expressing concern over bad road condition at the range, union stated that people of the range were facing difficulties due to lack of basic transportation facilities.
In this connection, Nyiro Range Students’ Union has appealed to the responsible authorities to look into the matter and take necessary action at the earliest.
Meanwhile, union has extended gratitude to Dr. Yinga of primary health centers Nyiro for his assistance towards Nyiro Range Students’ Union team during the annual tour programme.
