Khulu urges unemployed youth to be patient

APC & Principal Secretary, Agriculture H.K Khulu on Saturday urged educated unemployed youths of Nagaland (EUUN) not to quit but persist and to have patience while undertaking any entrepreneurship.
He was addressing the youths at one day seminar on prospects of self employment for educated unemployment youth Dimapur organized by ATMA and co-ordination committee EUUN.
He said the seminar on prospect of self employment for educated unemployed youths in agriculture & allied sector should be the beginning of the unemployed youths of state.
Stating that all are entrepreneurs in their own rights be it farmers, other cultivators, business, Khulu asked them not to depend only on the government sector as it had come to a saturation point. Nagaland has the highest government employees in the country, he said.
While encouraging unemployed youths to make use of the financial institutions such as NABARD and other banks available in the state, he said NABARD had agreed to provide about Rs.292 crore for the state, while department of Veterinary to the tune of Rs.48 crore for credit plan for the state.
The chief guest also stated that the state government was also trying its best to promote self employment and looking for other avenues in the state through various schemes despite faced with steep challenge of about Rs.712 crore in implementation the 6th pay commission for the government employees.
Dr. U.S Saha General Manager, NABARD said NABARD being an apex financial institution was empowering women especially Self Help Groups (SHGs) and was engaging about 10 crore individuals across the nations.
NABARD also finances institutions such as banks, NGOs, VDBs, handicrafts and all small scales industries especially in rural development sector and provides financial assistances to the state governments, health care and granting developmental loans and other soft loans to the local entrepreneurs across the nation.
About 80 educated unemployed youths took part in the programme. Earlier DAO&PD (ATMA) Dimapur stressed on objectives of the seminar to create an awareness of self reliance in Agri & Allied sector and other loan schemes from financial institutions.
The main resources persons include Dr. N. Tiameren Ao, Dr. Sunep and M.Sumer Manager regional bank SBI Dimapur.
Various departmental heads, officers from different departments Dimapur, M.K Mandal DGM NABARD took part in the inaugural function.
