Naga lad leads PTC parade

A total of 63 police cadets that included 13 Dy SPs, 53 SIs including 21 women from Nagaland and 107 SIs from Assam passed out from the Police Training College Dergaon (Assam) on Saturday. Chief guest ADGP (TAT) Assam G.Bhuyan took the salute presented by the contingent led by Temsu Changkija NPS.
Addressing the officers after the oath taking ceremony, ADGP G Bhuyan urged upon the officers to realise the crucial role that police play to prevent crime and usher development. “As leaders of the police force you must lead by example” he said. Maintaining that it was unique occasion where officers from both the states were passing out, the ADGP also urged them cooperate with one another in order to control the drug menace, human trafficking and smuggling of forest produce taking place in the NE states. He also urged the women officers to address women and children related issues with utmost diligence.
Lamenting the trust deficit in the region between the force and public, Bhuyan said it was reflected the force in a poor way and urged the officers to change the notion by being more accessible to the public. He also urged upon them to be practical and humble police officers.
Dy SP Temsu Changkija, who led the parade is the son of former DGP Nagaland J Changkija. Talking to Nagaland Post, Temsu said he felt relieved after completing the training and cannot wait to get to the work.
