PLA activists surrender in Manipur

Three hardcore militants of proscribed Peoples Liberation Army (PLA) laid down arms Monday before Y Joy Kumar, DGP Manipur and Major General CA Krishna, IGAR (South) in a simple ceremony organised by IGAR (South), Mantripukhri. According to an official source, the surrendered cadres were ‘SS Lance Corporal’ Ronenson alias Joychandra Singh, ‘SS Lance Corporal’ Momo alias Nauba Meitei and ‘SS Lance corporal’ Gokul Meitei and also handed over one AK 47 Rifle with magazine, one 9 mm Pistol with magazine and one US Made M-16 with magazine.
Lauding the efforts of AR, Y Joy Kumar said that AR would leave no stone unturned to bring back the misguided youths into the mainstream and assured that police department will try their best to rehabilitate the surrendered “misguided youths”.
Meanwhile, CA Krishna said that the neigbhouring country Myanmar, had agreed to co-operate with the country in countering with the rebels. “We expect that Myanmar will sincerely extend co-operation to India by not giving shelter to the insurgence seeking shelter in the country,” Krishna said.
Further, troops of 15 AR prehended one PREPAK terrorist on September 6 identified as Konthoujam Ingocha Singh and one mobile phone with SIM card was recovered from him.
