F& CS directs bogus ration card holders
DIMAPUR: As directed by the Supreme Court, department of food and civil supplies (F& CS) has directed all bogus ration card holders to surrender bogus cards within two weeks of publishing of this press release.
DC asks to remove materials along NH-39, NH 61
KOHIMA: DC Kohima Bei-u Angami has notified owners of building material or materials dumped on either side of NH-39 and NH 61 within Kohima to clear it on or before September 10. DC cautioned that necessary action would be taken against defaulters and that materials would be seized by the authority.
ANDPO meeting
KOHIMA: Meeting of All Nagaland Disabled People Organization (ANDPO) has been convened on September 11, 10 am at the residence of its chairman Rokuolholie Zumu at High school Kohima.
MSK to celebrate Onam festival
DIMAPUR: Malayali Samajam Kohima (MSK) would be organizing a cultural program on September 11 at 16 Assam Rifles auditorium, Kohima from 10:30 a.m onwards coinciding with Onam festival. Minister for Agriculture, Dr. Chumben Murry will grace the function as chief guest. Highlights of the program will include traditional cultural shows by members of the Malayali community and musical show by Kottayam Communications Orchestra from Kerala.
MDHT general meeting
DIMAPUR: Mokokchung District Hindi Teachers (MDHT) general meeting will be held on September 10 from 10am at MGHSS auditorium. All the members have been requested to remit a sum of Rs. 300 each as membership fee for three years and further absentees have been notified that they would be dealt as per the resolution of the body.
KSUD meeting
DIMAPUR: Kuki student union Dimapur (KSUD) has convened a general meeting on September 10, 9:30 am at SM School, Doungel Veng. All the members and Kuki students of Dimapur have been requested to attend the meeting and further requested unions to bring Rs 100 as membership fee and registration.
CSUKCK jubilee
DIMAPUR: Chakhesang student union Kohima College, Kohima (CSUKCK) would be celebrating its 25 years of formation on September 10, 10 am at Ura Academy Hall with Azo Nienü, minister for health and family welfare as chief guest. All alumni of CSUKCK, elders, parents, well wishers and public leaders have been requested to participate in the occasion.
Affected teacher’s parents meeting
DIMAPUR: All parents of affected teachers in Nagaland have been informed to attend a meeting on September 11, 9 am at ISBT, Purana Bazaar, Dimapur. Phek main pipeline damaged
DIMAPUR: Normal water supply to Phek town has been affected for the past several days as the main pipeline of Laka Source was damaged at several places due to landslides. SDO PHE Phek in a release informed that all efforts were on for restoration work and resumption of normal water supply at the earliest and requested the consumers to bear the inconveniences.
Seized liquor transported by unauthorized police
MOKOKCHUNG: In connection with the incident on August 21 where seized liquor were allegedly being transported from court malkhana by some unauthorized police personnel, the Ongpangkong Students’ Conference (OKM) has urged the authority to investigate the matter and bring the persons responsible to book and accord appropriate action as per the law. OKM in a letter to SP Mokokchung signed by its general secretary Pongenmeren stated that on the night of August 21at around 9-10 pm, some police personnel were caught by the special team while they were trying to transport seized liquors from the court malkhana without any authorization. Condemning the incident OKM said such kind of illegal activity was serious matter which was tantamount to negation of all rules of conduct.
One killed in hit and run case
Dimapur, Sept 7 (NPN): One person (male) was reportedly killed in a hit and run case around 8.30 pm at 4th mile area here on Tuesday. According to Dimapur traffic police, the victim was suspected to be local in his forties and the body found on the main road. Police said that the victim has not been identified and the body has been brought to Dimapur civil hospital morgue for further inquiry and investigation.
