DIMAPUR: Dimapur District VDB Association (DDVDBA) has convened a general meeting on August 20, 10 am at the residence of its banker, Signal Bosti Dimapur. President, secretary and executives of all four blocks under Dimapur district have been requested to attend the meeting.
M.Sc Zoology, Pol. Sci, Geography dept inform
Dimapur: The Nagaland University has finalized the lists of provisionally selected candidates for the admission to M.Sc Zoology (1st Semester) for the session 2010-11. The lists are already displayed in the department notice board as well as in the NU administrative building. Further the provisionally selected candidates have been informed to appear before the admission committee along with the original documents at Zoology department head office, Lumami on August 26-27 at 11 am while the wait listed candidates have been informed to appear on August 31 at 11 am at the same venue.
In a separate release, department of Political Science, Nagaland University (NU) has informed that list of the candidates provisionally selected for admission to MA programme 2010-11 in department of Political Science, NU, Lumami has been displayed on the notice board of the department as well as at the university website: www.nagauniv.org.in. Admission for merit candidates would be conducted on August 23 to 24 from 10am to 4 pm and for waiting list candidates on August 25 from 10am to 4pm. Candidates have been requested to appear before the interview board along with their original documents/marksheets for verification and for more details to contact on 986227663 and 9612575015.
Prof. T. Lanusosang Head of Department (HoD) of Geography, Nagaland University has also informed that the list of provisionally selected candidates for admission in M.A/M.Sc. programme in Geography for the year 2010-2011 has been displayed on the notice board of the department.
All the candidates have been requested to appear in the interview along with all original mark sheets and certificates etc., on August 26-27 at 10.30am in the Department of Geography, Nagaland University, Lumami. The rest of the candidates can contact the department on or before August 30. For admission in the Ph. D. programme of the Department, an entrance test for all the applicants would be conducted on August 30 at 10.30am in the department, added the HoD.
AR ex-servicemen meeting
DIMAPUR: Meeting of all ex-servicemen and widows of Assam Rifles (AR) under Dimapur and Peren area has been convened on August 21, 10 am at 24 Battalion AR.
KOHIMA: Kohima Tsungiki Khumshum (KTK) has convened a meeting on August 18, 3.30 pm at the residence of S. Yanbemo Kikon at PWD Hill Kohima. All members have been asked to attend the meeting.
DIMAPUR: Ad-hoc Town Council (ATC) Chuchu town under Mokokchung district has strongly flayed the irregular performance of many government employees posted in various departments under its jurisdiction. A press release issued by ATC vice chairman Aosadang and secretary Imotiba stated that the council, observing the irregular service of many government employees, held a joint meeting with Chuchuyimlang Village Council (CVC) and discussed the issue. It stated that the meeting resolved to strongly flay the irregularity of employees and urged them to render their duties not only during office hours, but also to be available when public required their services. Stating that ATC would be undertaking surprise routine checks from September onwards, the release added that any employee found neglecting service or absent from duty would be viewed as an offence and the case would be taken up seriously without any exception.
Remembering Haipou Jadonang
DIMAPUR: The All Zeliangrong Students’ Union (AMN) in its meeting on August 15 decided to observe the 79th Death Anniversary of Haipou Jadonang on August 29.
In this regard the All Zeliangrong Students’ Union has informed all the academic institutions (Govt. and Private), to observe the death anniversary by conducting floral homage, silence prayer, delivering speech on his life and history of Haipou Jadonang, etc.
AZSU would treat any institutions which fail to comply with information as one dishonoring the revered leader, Haipou Jadonang, stated Pamei Tingenlung, president, AZSU (AMN).
Wokha-Kohima route blockade
MOKOKCHUNG: Sub-Divisional Officer (civil) Kesonyu Yhome IAS on behalf of deputy commissioner Mokokchung Lithrongla G Chishi has issued a circular stating that in view of the proposed road blockade called by certain Tribal Hohos along the Wokha-Kohima route on August 17 and 18.
All public have been informed to take note of the information and take necessary action to avoid inconvenience to passengers.
