Sumi Hoho’s former president H.S Rotokha, in a communiqué issued today, said that he, as a concerned Naga citizen, was prompted to provoke and draw the attention of general public to examine and justify the position of Naga hoho, the apex body of Nagaland, pertaining to several situations.
1. It is an admitted fact that Naga hoho has been functioning exclusive of its integral tribes in Nagaland.
2. The Naga hoho officials have miserably failed to uphold the traditional cohesion and unity of all sections of Naga society for their one-sided attitude in both national and state politics.
3. The biggest blunder made the by the present Naga hoho officials is the declaration of war against Manipur state, our immediate neighbor. And much to our shock, all Naga politicians, NGO leaders and intellects have been remaining so tongue-tied about this. Naga’s silence is no less than amen to the immature statement. And it seems all are going happy go-lucky without knowing its upshots in future.
4. And yet, it is reportedly learnt that the present Naga hoho team has recently extended tenure of office from 3 years to 5 years at Mokochung session which is supposed to be effective from the next term (next team of office bearers).
“It is a matter of serious concern that the unique image of Naga people as a whole has been irreparably damaged. What do Naga people say about it,” Rotokha asked.
