REE bans illegal activities

The Rilan Eloe Ekhung (women association) Dimapur has called to prohibit activities such as drinking alcohol, blaring sound system, late night parties at Rilan Yan Tata parking area, near Dilai police check gate with immediate effect.
Interacting with this reporter, association members said although notice was placed at the Tata parking site earlier, banning such illegal activities in the area, leisure seeking youths still camped at the Tata parking site from around 8 p.m. till 3 a.m. everyday, particularly on weekends. Association lamented that despite such activities taking place at the site, police personnel at Dilai gate has not taken any action despite repeated appeals from REE
Claiming that they were witness to many instances of such activities, especially during late night, REE members said they have been patrolling the area since August 15 last and had warned about 40 vehicle owners of stringent action in this connection. Maintaining strongly that such activities were disturbing residents of the area and setting “bad influence” to the students community as well, association has urged upon the Dimapur district administration and police to take immediate action. Rilan Eloe Ekhung further cautioned that an amount of Rs.5000 would be imposed on anyone caught at the site, with immediate effect.
