North East knowledge expo begins

The first ever North-east knowledge expo kicked off on Thursday at Urban Haat with Parliamentary Secretary Dr K C Nihoshe as chief guest and ACS Alemtemshi IAS as guest of honour. The three day expo organized by CII with support from DoNER is focused on providing information on entrepreneurship development.
Dr K C Nihoshe while asserting that Naga youth have the capabilities, chief guest urged those with sound financial conditions to come forward and partner in setting up enterprises. Stressing on the need for human resource development, he also added that the government desired to identify upcoming entrepreneurs and extend necessary help.
Lamenting that subsidies had been misused in the state, Dr Nihoshe pointed out that people were wasting financial help extended to them. At the same time he also stated that insurgency does not come to agri & allied, education and industrial sectors. On the various land owners issue with regards to development, Dr Nihoshe assured that MoU with landowners will be made and power shortages in the state will definitely improve. The parliamentary secretary also informed that a branch of IIE Guwahati will soon be set up in Dimapur, which the ministry has also agreed in principle.
Guest of honor Alemtemshi who also addressed the gathering expounded on the potential of human resource development in the state. He informed that from the current strength of 4,50,000 students in schools, the number was almost going to be double by 2020.
Asserting that the developmental model of the government was also slowly moving from agriculture and post marketing to human resource, Alemtemshi stated that service sector had been very serious and government was looking at it as an export along with health care facilities.
Stating that unemployment was a myth in Nagaland, Alemtemshi asserted that potential and sources of employment were there within the state. On the selection of promising entrepreneurs under the year of entrepreneurs, the ACS informed that the CM has clearly stated that no political interference will be there during the selection process. He also added that the number can go beyond 1000 if found necessary. On the land owner issue, ACS also stated that people have misunderstood Article 371 (A) and which had become a hurdle towards growth and development. “Land owner are strangulating the hopes of the youth” he asserted. Earlier the welcome address and brief remarks was delivered by Sr Dir of CII Indrani Kar while the vote of thanks was delivered by converner of the expo, Ajay Sethi.
