CWC to take charge of minor

Following the rescue of a minor against physical violence from his owner Wednesday last in Kohima, the Nagaland Child Rights Committee has informed that the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) under Social Welfare Department would formally take charge of the ten year old boy.
The charge was given to CWC in the presence of Nagaland Child Rights Committee and the police on Friday. Meanwhile, the accused, Akum Aier, has been booked under Section 325 of IPC.
It may be mentioned that on Wednesday, the minor, a class III student of Government Primary School Bayavü, was rescued from his guardian and owner after he was physically abused on several occasions.
Police revealed that a copper wire was used to beat the victim who bore bruises and cut marks from the neck till the ankle.
Bayavü residents led by the Bayavü Panchayat initiated the rescue work.
