Discontent over black-topping of road work between Amaluma and Pimla Bazar via Zutovi village, Amaluma and Zutovi Village Councils have appealed for renovation/reconstruction of the road from responsible authority. A joint press release issued by Zutovi village council (ZVC) chairman Phuzheto Chishi and secretary Ghunato Kiba stated that the road in question, which was constructed under PMGSY scheme 2009 was in very poor condition. Also flaying the workmanship of the responsible contractor, ZVC alleged that roadwork was incomplete as the retaining wall which was damaged during construction was yet to be repaired. Council stated that after the matter was reported to the PWD in August 2009, department officials and the responsible contractor visited and verified the spot and consequently.
Claiming that the contractor assured villagers in the presence of department officials, to repair the road within a “short span of time”, council lamented that the work was yet to be taken up. The release further stated that Amaluma and Zutovi VCs held a joint meeting in this connection on August 18 and resolved to approach the responsible authority once again for immediate repairing of the road, which it said, was the only connectivity between the two villages.
