Literary day at Dimpuar Mission Hr. Sec. School

Dimapur Mission Higher Secondary School observed Literary Day at the DABA Khermahal building where the school managing committee, church representatives, faculty attended with Geoffrey Yaden as chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion as chief guest Geoffrey Yaden, (Editor,Nagaland Post) emphasized on the importance of literary day programme and urged the students and school to accord as much importance to it as class room learning.
He said observing literary programme was an essential part of learning where skills are improved or learnt.
The chief guest said literary skills was the core of education which provided the basis for personality development.He also urged students to understand education not only for academic and pursuit of goals but also to inculcate sense of citizenship to be useful for the local community with a global outlook.
He lauded the vision of the Dimapur Mission School in making schooling affordable to the weaker sections and expressed the hope that the managing committee under Alem Chankiri and K.Temjen Jamir(editor Tir Yim Yim) would steer the school to greater heights.
In this regard, he urged students to excel and bring laurels to the school in all disciplines.
Earlier, in her welcome address School Principal Dr. Imnainla Lemtur spoke about the pioneering spirit and achievements of the chief guest. She also spoke about his various other engagements with society and other institutions.
She also said on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the DMHSS, the school is observing a year long celebration.
Vote of thanks was offered by Madhu Nancy VP, DMHSS .Highlights of the programme included quiz competition and extempore speech.
