Ganja seized
DIMAPUR: During a routine frisking by police, one maruti van (NL01C 4839) was seized for carrying 42 Kgs of contraband ganja on August 17. One person identified as Andrew Mao was also arrested. (Staff Reporter)
1 arrested for theft
DIMAPUR: Based on a complaint received from one person, one person identified as Limasunep Imchen of Longjang village was arrested for stealing two laptops, a pen drive, mother boards and computer printers from a shop located at Naharbari on August 16.

Two arrested for extortion
DIMAPUR: Two persons identified as Vikaho and Hukai was arrested on charges of extortion by the SOT of Dimapur police from MST Road on August 20 evening for collecting tax from truck driver in the name of FGN. Fourteen demand note of FGN and a cash of Rs 3,290 was also recovered from their possession. Meanwhile, AR personnel also arrested one person identified as ‘ss’ pvt James Jans Sangtam on August 21 from Showuba and seized 17 tax collection slips and one record book containing details of taxation from his possession. Naga Chilly training held
DIMAPUR: A training programme on Naga chilly post harvest management practices was held on August 19 at Tening Town Hall. More than 100 progressive farmers from eight villages of Peren district participated in the training. Senti Longchar, AHO directorate of horticulture spoke on Naga Chilli post harvest processing-paradigm shift. He explained that said sorting and grading after harvesting and drying was an important step for the produces to compete in the international market and stated that to meet the bulk demand by the companies all the farmers might harvest the chilly on a same day. Gautam Goswami, ITC Ltd. also explained the recommended scientific post harvest management practices who recommended the Hot Air Blower (drier) for drying Naga chilly stating the dried chilly from the farmers were smoke dried with high carbon content. He said the Company intended to buy 40 MT dried Naga Chilly from the farmers in the current season. The farmers also interacted with the resource persons.

Kohima district monthly review meet
DIMAPUR: Kohima district monthly review meeting of medical officers was held on August 12 at chief medical office (CMO) conference hall. RCH, immunization, VHND reporting, malaria, execution of work were some of the topics which were discussed during the meeting. Senior medical officers (CHCs) of the district gave presentations on performances of previous year till date. CMO Kohima, Dr. L. Ralte has informed that MOs of Chunlikha, Mezoma and Zhadima PHCs would be giving their presentations at the next review meeting.
Knowledge expo concludes
DIMAPUR: North East Knowledge Expo, an initiative of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) concluded on August 20 with workshops on language development, opportunities in management and information technology followed by a cultural program at Urban Haat Dimapur. Technical workshops emphasizing on opportunity for a one to one interaction with resource persons and understanding various options available for employment, vocational training & skill building were conducted at the expo. About 20 exhibitors have displayed options in the filed of information technology, aviation, hospitality, financial support, industrial training etc. The expo was visited by various government officials, NGOs, and students from senior secondary schools and colleges.
ENSA executive meeting
Kohima: The Eastern Naga Students’ Association (ENSA) has convened its executive meeting on August 28 at the residence of its president at Kohima from 9 am onwards to discuss on the forth coming general conference proposed to be held at Chen Hoyat Village, Eastern Nagaland.
