GPRN/NSCN: GPRN/NSCN has mourned the demise of ‘Col’. Akheto Sumi (Posthumously Promoted). A condolence message stated that ‘Col’. Akheto Sumi was a highly regarded Naga Army officer and was the commander at GPRN/NSCN designated Camp, Suruhuto, under Sumi Region who succumbed to prolonged illness on August 22 at 1:00 p.m. A condolence message stated that in good health and in illness, he exhibited exemplary courage and valor demanded of him by the Nation and “his unwavering faith in the right of the Nagas was his greatest strength”. He leaves behind a loving family and thousands of comrades. Meanwhile, a public funeral service will be held at Suruhuto Town on August 23 at 8:00 a.m. GPRN/NSCN conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed that Lord grant courage and strength to the family to overcome the pain.
Wondang-ki orphanage: Wondang-ki Orphanage has conveyed condolences to the bereaved families of the army officers who died in the chopper on August 18 near Viswema. The orphanage stated in a condolence message that major Nikhil and major Rakesh were well wishers and constant visitors of Wondang-ki, and expressed sadness that their untimely demise was a great loss to the orphanage and the country as a whole. The orphanage further prayed for their souls to rest in peace.
NPF youth wing: NPF youth wing president Kakuto Shohe has expressed shock and deepest sorrow over the tragic vehicle accident where a Bolero skidded off the road and plunged into Chathe river killing C. Alem, assistant director printing & stationery. He also expressed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
