NLA library committee study tour
KOHIMA: Library Committee of Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) will go on a study tour to Rajasthan, Haryana, Shimla and Delhi from September 19 to 26. Led by deputy speaker Ralanthung Yanthan, the tour is being organized to acquaint the committee with knowledge of legislature libraries working system, functioning etc. During the visit, the committee will also call on speaker, deputy speaker and meet the committee members of legislative assemblies of the visiting states.
NAPO meet
KOHIMA: General meeting of Northern Angami Public Organization (NAPO) has been convened on September 21, 10 am at Ura Academy hall with state chief minister Neiphiu Rio, as chief guest.
One held in Bhandari
DIMAPUR: Bhandari police led by SDPO in their routine search on September 16 arrested one person identified as Eyilow Ngullie of Mungya village for possessing 21,000 tablets of banned drug ‘Relipen’. SDPO Bhandari, Tumchobemo also stated that drug peddling being rampant in Wokha district, the police have in the past three months arrested seven such peddlers and over lakh of different banned drugs.
Coastal trekking at Orissa
DIMAPUR: Coastal Trekking for senior Scouts, Guides, Rovers and Rangers would be held from November 10 to 14 at Orissa. Interested participants have been requested to contact state headquarter NSBSG or SOC (Guides) for information or contact at 9436062258.

Directorate of Vety & AH informs
DIMAPUR: The Director of Veterinary & animal Husbandry has informed all applicants of LDAs who has submitted their applications at directorate, to withdraw their application by September 20 and submit the same to P&AR department and respective district DC.
ANGDA emergency meeting
DIMAPUR: All Nagaland Government drivers association (ANGDA) Wokha unit has convened an emergency meeting on September 18, 10 am at the residence of M Toshi Jamir (Treasurer) Fishery colony Wokha. All the ANGDA executive members and committee members have been requested to attend the meeting.
WSSU emergency meeting
DIMAPUR: The western Sumi student union (WSSU) has convened an emergency meeting on September 18, 13:30am at its union office, Thahekhu. All the advisory boards and executive members have been requested to attend the meeting.
SBCPB exposure trip
DIMAPUR: Sumi Baptist church Purana bazaar (SBCPB) youth department had a mission exposure trip to Kathmandu Nepal from September 4 to 12. The team consisted of 18 members led by Mughai N Achumi, youth director SBCPB. Meanwhile the youth department expressed gratitude to church staff, parents for their financial and prayer support.
USGOU meeting
DIMAPUR: United Sangtam gazetted officers union (USGOU) has convened a joint meeting on October 16, 10am at DUDA guest house Kohima. All theexecutive committee, correspondence secretaries of district/sub-divisional headquarters and all Kohima and Dimapur based Sangtam gazetted officers have been requested to attend the meeting.
SUPCC meeting
DIMAPUR: Student union public college of commerce (SUPCC) has convened an official meeting on September 18, 10 am at SUPCC office. All the ex presidents and former students of PCC and executives of SUPCC have been requested to attend the meeting.
Prog for educated unemployed at Wokha
DIMAPUR: In connection with the “year of entrepreneurs” as declared by the government of Nagaland, district industries centre (DIC) Wokha has informed that there would be an awareness programme for educated unemployed youth from September 21-22, 10 am at DC’s conference hall, Wokha. DIC Wokha further informed that the programme would be conducted for those who have submitted application along with necessary documents at DIC.
Taxis and buses for Kisama
DIMAPUR: Kohima City Bus Union and All Nagaland Taxi Association will be plying taxis and buses from PHQ junction to Kisama on September 18. All public desiring to witness the ‘World Bamboo Day’ celebration in Kisama have been informed to avail the services.
KSD to observe Onam 2010
DIMAPUR: Kerala Samajam Dimapur (KSD) would organize a cultural programme for all Malayalees as part of Onam 2010 on September 19, 3 pm at Town Hall Dimapur. The programme would showcase Dreams Unlimited Dimapur, Unnikrishna Pakkanar and team, and Cheraw dance by Mizo artistes among other items.
Training for meat traders
DIMAPUR: A one day training for meat traders and butchers would be imparted on “better quality meat and safe environment” on September 24, 9 am at Lotha Hoho Ki, Dimapur. Rajya Sabha MP Khekiho Zhimomi would be the chief guest of the programme, which is being organized jointly by National Meat & Poultry Processing Board, Indian Institute of Crop Processing Technology Guwahati and Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC). All butchers and traders of livestock, poultry and fishes within the DMC jurisdiction as well as educated youths and interested individuals have been informed to attend the training programme.
Yimchungrü people’s convention
DIMAPUR: Yimchungrü Tribal Council (YTC) has informed all the Yimchungrüs that a Yimchungrü people’s convention has been convened at Shamator town/Pungro town and Western Yimchungrüs areas at old Showuba (local ground) on September 21, at 11am. All organization presidents and colleagues, village council chairmen, VDB secretaries and GBs under YTC have been directed to attend the convention. The YTC also extended its welcome to all ex-ministers, intellectuals and Western Yimchungrü Hoho to attend the programme.
ANCSU sports meet cum music fest
DIMAPUR: All Nagaland college students union (ANCSU) would be organizing its sports meet cum music fest under the theme “Excellentia thro labor” from November 22 to 26 at Indra Gandhi stadium, Kohima. All the college affiliated to ANCSU, have been requested to cooperate with the union and for more information contact the sports secretary, Lima Jamir, 9612669194.
ABVDBA new team
DIMAPUR: Akuluto Block VDB Secretary Association (ABVDBA) has elected its new team of office bearers for the tenure 2010-12 on September 2 headed with Khekato K. Chishi as president, and Sukhaho Chophy as general secretary. While reaffirming to work together for development of the area, association also sought cooperation from citizens, departments, organizations, GBs and elders.

DIMAPUR: Sumi Aphuyemi Kiphimi Kuqhakulu (SAKK) has convened an executive meeting on September 21, 11 am at the residence of its banker, Kohima.
ENWO condemns
Dimapur: Eastern Nagaland Women Organization (ENWO) has condemned the murder of Rutsangchi by her husband Phungkhumong Khiamniungan besides causin serius injuries to others in Thonoknyu. ENWO expressed shock over the “brutal crime” committed by a retired assistant commandant. While acknowledging the police for timely action in arresting the culprit, ENWO also appealed the authority to award befitting punishment to the culprit and also conveyed condolence to the bereaved family.
WSBAK grateful
Dimapur: Western Sumi Baptist Churches Association (WSBAK) has thanked minister for Roads and Bridges, Kaito; WSBAK council chairman, Khehovi Yeptho; youth executive Phukuto Zhimo and Mughato Zhimo and Zhuikhu Baptist Church for their contribution and WSBAK staff for their support during the North East Youth Gospel Olympic held from September 7 to 10 at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima. During the meet, WSBAK emerged as the winner in men’s football. It has also lauded the team manager, coach and various organizations and associations for the support during the meet.
