SPFDD general meeting
DIMAPUR: Sangtam Peoples Forum Dimapur District (SPFDD) has convened its first general meeting on September 25, 10 am at Tsithrongse village under Dhansiripar sub-division. All constituent units under the forum have been requested to attend the meeting.
DIS Peren inform adhoc graduate teachers
DIMAPUR: Deputy Inspector of Schools (DIS) Peren Apeuna Iheilung has requested all adhoc graduate teachers, primary teachers, Hindi teachers and drawing teachers LDA under DIS Peren to check the list of teachers selected to face screening test as per publication of the notice on September 10 by Directorate of School Education, Kohima.
LDA applicants informed
DIMAPUR: The commissioner of excise has informed all the applicants to the post of LDA-cum-computer sssistant under directorate of excise department to withdraw their applications from the office and submit them to P&AR department and DC. Meanwhile, PHED chief engineer has informed all the applicants to the post of LDA-cum-computer assistant under directorate of public health engineering department (PHED) Kohima to retrieve their documents from directorate latest by September 20 and submit the applications to P&AR department.
ESSU joint meeting
DIMAPUR: Eastern Sumi student union (ESSU) golden jubilee planning board has convened a joint meeting on September 27, 4 pm at the residence of its banker Tokuho Achumi. All members of the planning board, local organizing committee, editorial board, office bearers of ESSU and adhoc town committee members of Aghunato town have been requested to attend the meeting.
ENSUD presidential meeting
DIMAPUR: Eastern Nagaland Students’ Union Dimapur (ENSUD) has convened an emergency presidential meeting on September 21, 2 pm at the residence of its treasurer, to discuss the matters relating to the upcoming general conference.
TSUD 4th union assembly
DIMAPUR: Teyimi Students’ Union Dimapur (TSUD) has convened its 4th union assembly on September 22, 3 pm at union office. All unit presidents, secretaries, subordinate bodies and senior leaders of TSUD have been requested to attend the assembly.
AUD & AKDD joint meeting
DIMAPUR: Asukhomi Union Dimapur (AUD) and Asukho Kughuko Dimapur District (AKDD) construction committee has convened a joint meeting on September 19, 2 pm at the residence of Yevikhe, SDO police project, block 5Thahekhu village. All members have been requested to attend the meeting.
DC office Mon inform JNV applicants
DIMAPUR: Deputy Commissioner’s office, Mon has informed that application forms for admission to Jawahar Novodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) would be available at the development Branch of DC office Mon. Last date for submission of form would be September 31 and examination held on April 9, 2011.
Free medical camp held
DIMAPUR: ICICI LOMBARD in collaboration with Sub DIC Tseminyu organized a free medical health camp on September 16 for HIS card holders. Three doctors from Guwahati conducted the camp where 101 beneficiaries were treated. The camp was attended by CS manager of ICICI LOMBARD Guwahati, CCs of Nagaland, FM Akheto and inspector Kukhato. Medicines were also distributed to beneficiaries. Sub DIC and ICICI LOMBARD expressed gratitude to all individuals of Tseminyu for success of the camp.
IBA Church dedication
DIMAPUR: Ikishe Baptist church (IBA) 5th Mile Dimapur will hold its Church dedication service on September 26, 10 am, to be graced by Rev Vitoshe Swu ES WSBAK. IBA pastor Kiyevi Katy has requested all individuals/parties to attend the service.
Highway Star Voice Hunt 2010 telecast
DIMAPUR: Highway Star Voice Hunt 2010 Top 23 would be telecast on local cable channels every evening starting September 24. Voting lines would remain open till September 24 and results declared on September 26.
NPF Peren reaffirms support
DIMAPUR: NPF Peren division held a meeting on September 10 and resolved to reaffirm its “unflinching” support for Nagaland chief minister Nephiu Rio, NPF president Dr. Shürhozelie, and planning minister T.R. Zeliang.
DEO Kohima inform schools
KOHIMA: The District Education Officer (DEO) Kohima has informed all the participating schools of Kohima district inter GHSS/GHS tournament 2010 to come with sports/ kits /students C.R Book and school flags. School teams have been informed to report to the venue on September 21 at 3 pm along with their respective P.E teachers. All heads of participating schools have also been requested to be present at the inaugural function on September 22 at 10 am. The chief guest for the function will be advisor for IT & TE and MLA Er. Vikho-o Yhoshü.
NCF Visakhapatnam freshers’ day
DIMAPUR: The third freshers’ day of Nagaland Christian Fellowship (NCF) Visakhapatnam was held on August 21 at Crack Valley Bheemunipatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Students from different institutions in Visakhapatnam attended the programme. NCF Visakhapatnam general secretary Amos Ezung shared the word of God on the topic “regret or be repentant”, basing Luke 16:19-31. Earlier, welcome speech was delivered by NCF Visakhapatnam president Nchumpemo Shitio, while praise and worship was led by New Life Bible College and special number was presented by Love & Care Ministries Visakhapatnam. Around 60 students attended the programme.
GHSS Chumukedima grateful
DIMAPUR: Godwin Higher Secondary School Chumukedima and participants of workshop on “enhancement of teaching competency for higher secondary school teachers” held from September 13-17 at Kohima, extended their gratitude and appreciation to the principal and resource persons of Nagaland College of Teacher Education for their initiatives in training them on various teaching skills. Participants expressed hope that NCTE would come up with such relevant workshops for non-B.Ed. teachers in the future basing on skills and teaching methodology to make teaching-learning process more effective benefiting the students community.
Inter school essay and art competition
DIMAPUR: Four private schools at Medziphema town- King David School (KDS), Chakhro Baptist Mission School (CBMS), Rivenburg School and Modern Christian School (MCS), held an inter school essay and art competition on September 17 at Rivenburg School. In the essay competition (class 8 to class 10), Suizwalungbe of Rivenburg School, Puspa Raj of MCS and Ropfuvino of CBMS won the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. Meanwhile, in art competition, winners of group-I (class 8 to 10) include Vitsisieno Chalieu of Rivenburg school, Rovilhukho of (MCS) and Razoukhrielie of KDS; in group-II (class 6 to 7) Hegwangbui of KDS, Kekhruno of MCS and Vikepesie of CBMS; and in group-III (class 3 to 5), Shonkai of KDS, Okhumeren Jamir and Kezhasino of Rivenburg School.
NPF 18th Chozuba lauds Chotisuh
DIMAPUR: NPF 18th Chozuba A/C appreciated the community based rural health scheme launched by parliamentary secretary social welfare and women development, Chotisuh Sazo. NPF 18th Chozuba A/C stated the initiative of Chotisuh Sazo in launching the community based rural health scheme has caught the fancy, imagination and admiration of the entire constituency. It also added that through this novel scheme, all the people of the constituency have been covered irrespective of party affiliation, village and clan. NPF 18th Chozuba A/C also lauded Bethel Medical Centre Kohima in partnering with the parliamentary secretary in ensuring the well being of our people. The party further urged the government to look into the merit of this scheme and evolve a policy wherein all the citizens of the state would be covered.
GSUN freshers’ meet cum felicitation
DIMAPUR: Garo Students’ Union Nagaland (GSUN) held its freshers’ meet cum felicitation programme on September 18 at Samaguri village. Union felicitated Mhonyani Sangma on being conferred gold medal in MA Anthropology from Hyderabad University, and all its members who successfully cleared HSCL, HSSLC and degree examinations from NBSE, MBOSE, NU, NEHU and Assam University. Speakers of the programme included GSUN president Biplop Sangma, DHS Doyapur proprietor Hector Sangma, Nagaland Garo Tribal Council president Torun Momin and GSUNZ general secretary Nathan Momin.
KNRSU social meet
KOHIMA: The 2nd social meet cum fresher day of Kohima Nyiro Range Students’ Union (KNRSU) cum fresher day will be held on September 25 at 10:30 am at Ura Academy Hall Kohima with Motsuthung Lotha, joint secretary and OSD MGNREGA as chief guest.
NSCN (I-M) Sangtam region condoles
DIMAPUR: NSCN (I-M) united Sangtam region has mourned the demise of Likhaba Sangtam “rajpuyu”, who passed away on September 14 after a prolonged illness. Describing late Likhaba as a sincere officer who rendered his life for the “national cause”, the NSCN (I-M) united Sangtam region further conveyed its condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
