SCERT Nagaland vocational guidance and counseling cell organized a one-day teachers’ orientation in career guidance at St. Paul’s Institute of Education Phesama on September 13.
A total of 58 teachers participated in the programme and they were familiarized with the concepts and methods of career guidance programme practiced by modern school counselors.
SCERT Nagaland vocational guidance and counseling officer in-charge Zavise Rume was the resource person of the programme.
Meanwhile, a career conference cum career exhibition was organized on September 14 for secondary students of the school where various career literatures developed by the teacher trainees were exhibited.
Gateway Career Consultancy consultant Debashish Dutta highlighted various job oriented courses on aviation, hotel management, tourism, retail shopping and beauty and health management.
Altogether, 85 students participated in the conference cum exhibition.
It may be mentioned that SCERT had signed a MoU on September 10 with Gateway Career Consultancy along with Kolkata based technical and professional institutions to work together in vocational career guidance and counseling services to students in the state.
