The Mao Union Kohima lauded the efforts of FNR for initiating the reconciliation process among the NSCN (I-M), GPRN/NSCN and NNC. A joint press resale issued by the union president and general secretary asserted that Naga leaders have made enough sacrifices to bring peace amongst the Naga national workers and it was due to the signing of the covenant of reconciliation that relative peace is being enjoyed. The union while lauding the efforts of FNR also fervently appealed to all groups to take part in the process so that a final agreement can take place. Maintaining that the need of the hour was to bring out the final political settlement of the Naga issue with the GOI, the union opined that a divided Naga “political house” may fracture if factionalism and groupism existed. They also urged the leaders of Naga political parties to initiate a political dialogue with the GOI to bring about a final solution without any further delay.
