Training on integrated land dev. projects

Department of soil & water conservation conducted a two-day farmers’ training on integrated land development projects under Peren district on September 14 and 15 at Jalukie with DSCO Peren K. Thungdemo Lotha and soil survey officer Jalukie S.K. Hekshe Sumi as resource persons.
DSCO Peren highlighted the aims and objectives of implementing up integrated land development projects with fullest participation of farming communities and also enlightened farmers on how the project was funded.
Thungdemo also called upon the farmers to sincerely implement schemes and cooperate with the department to achieve sustainable economic conditions of the farming communities.
Topics like land development, bench terracing, concepts and technologies of water harvesting ponds, soil survey and testing, organic manures, vermicompost and crop cultivation in developed land, were covered at the training.
A total of 28 farmers from nine villages covering nine respective projects attended the training.
