Don Bosco alumni held its provincial council meeting at the Don Bosco Provincial House, Dimapur on September 19. The council reviewed the follow-up actions taken by various constituent units in compliance of the resolutions adopted at its first meeting held at the Administrative Training Institute (ATI), Kohima on April 18.
The council also lauded the activities organized by its units, like conducting career guidance programs for undergraduate and technical students, visiting of homes for destitute, orphanages etc.
The council finalized two major upcoming events viz, Don Bosco alumni provincial annual day celebrations to be held at Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh on October 24 and hosting of Indian National Congress of Don Bosco alumni at Itanagar from January 29 to February 3, 2011.
The council also adopted a resolution strongly condemning ‘monetary demand served on the teachers of Don Bosco School Imphal by armed extremist outfit’. The representatives of the Don Bosco Alumni of Dimapur Province which covers the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Upper Assam, Nagaland and Manipur, visited Teresa Home, run by the Missionaries of Charity, at River Belt Colony, Dimapur.
The representatives interacted with the inmates and sisters of the Missionaries of Charity. Medicines and monetary help were extended to the Home for the destitute.
