Truckers were likely to impose 36-hour Chakka bandh across Assam starting Tuesday, police sources quoting unconfirmed sources said Monday. The bandh has been imposed due to the rise of diesel price and other petroleum products. According to sources, the truckers were demanding rise of fares since fuel prices especially diesel price shot up to Rs. 36 per litre. Quoting some drivers plying along NH 39, police said that the Chakka bandh might continue for two days.
