A meeting on Japanese Encephalitis (JE) vaccination programme for the district was held at DC Conference Hall, Mokokchung on September 21. The meeting was convened by Lithrongla G Chishi, deputy commissioner Mokokchung where deputy CMO, DIO, DEO, DWO, Supervisors, BDOs, private practitioners, program officers and SMO attending the meet.
Dr. Limatula, DIO, Mokokchung emphasized on the role and responsibilities of the district task force for the implementation of the program.
Highlighting on Japanese Encephalitis, she maintained that it was an alarming disease and a health concern.
To prevent Japanese Encephalitis immunization program would be carried out within the district starting from October 4 to 13 targeting the population between 1-15 yrs of age. The team would visit schools covering all rural and urban areas ensuring 100% immunization during the massive campaign. Inputs were also given from the members of different departments.
Deputy commissioner has meanwhile encouraged members from different departments and general public to extend necessary support and co-ordination to make the program a success.
