Langkok Village Council has flayed a threat on the life of DRDA Kiphire deputy project officer (DPO) Setsathong Sangtam, allegedly by one T.V. Litsaba Sangtam, “deputy secretary” FGN on September 13.
According to a joint press statement issued by LVC chairman Litsamong and secretary Yanghotong, the village council along with Langkok village union Kiphire town held an emergency joint meeting on September 14 to deliberate on the issue and “unanimously” decided on a three point resolution.
The statement added that Langkok village citizens have resolved not to cooperate with the FGN under any circumstances; that Langkok village citizens would stop paying employment tax, house tax, ration tax, “life soul” census tax and businessmen would be exempted from paying any tax; and that, if any “untoward incident” happened to any Langkok citizens or to family members of Setsathong, the entire responsibility would be borne by T.V. Litsaba.
The resolution was jointly endorsed by village head GB Yangtsali, 2nd GB Setsapi, GB Tsathrikyu, GB Thsithrongli and VDB secretary Tsalumse.
