A five day training programme on application of computer in public libraries, reading habits, conservation of library materials and public library services began on September 21 at the State Library, Kohima.
Inaugurating the training program, Deo Nukhu, advisor, science and technology, new and renewal energy and art and culture stressed on the importance of libraries and its role in imparting education to all.
Dr. Ramachandran, principal library information officer, National Library, Kolkata highlighted in the activities of the National Library specially in promoting public library services.
The inaugural program was chaired by K. Kughazhe Yeputhomi, additional director & (H.O.D.), art & culture. A welcome song was presented by Yimchungrü cultural club, while G. Kumarappa, ALIO, National Library pronounced the vote of thanks.
The training was organized by the department of art & culture and sponsored by the National Library, Kolkata. Around 90 trainees from the 11 districts of the state registered for the training.
