One bogie and engine of the Kirandul-Vishakhapatnam passenger train got derailed at Chhatisgarh’s Naxal-affected Dantewada district on Thursday.
The incident happened at around 0600 hours, 45 minutes after it left Kirandul railway station. It was approaching Bhansi railway station. No casualties have been reported yet. Additional police force and relief train have been rushed to the spot. Railway officials have also reached the spot and repair work is going on. Goods train movement has been affected on the route. Police, who are investigating into the case, suspect involvement of Naxalites in the incident though they are yet to recover banner or any such material related to the rebels from the spot.
