Don Bosco alumni condemns monetary demand

The Dimapur Provincial Federation of Don Bosco Alumni which is a unified body of Associations of past pupils of Don Bosco Institutes, resident in the states of Manipur, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh and Upper Assam expressed shock on the monetary demands (‘Tax’) made on the staff and teachers of Don Bosco High School, Imphal by armed miscreants claiming to be members of a revolutionary outfit in Manipur.
The alumni expressed that Don Bosco High School, Chingmeirong, run by the Salesians of Don Bosco, like many other minority institutes have been facing several discriminatory acts of vandalism, extortion and threat to life and property from numerous outfits, all claiming to be revolutionary outfits fighting for self-respect and independence. Highlighting that schools are centers of education where teachers mould and shape the character and conduct of the child and the contribution made by the institution for imparting quality education, the alumni denounced the unthinkable discriminatory monetary demands (‘Tax’) served on the teachers of Don Bosco High school, Chingmeirong, Imphal.
It also appealed to the individuals/Revolutionary Outfit responsible, to withdraw the monetary demand (‘Tax’) served on the teachers to allow the process of quality education resume and progress uninterrupted.
