MLA & Advisor, IT and TE, Vikho-o Yhoshü on Saturday inaugurated Kigwema Government Middle School that was upgraded from Government Primary School.
Speaking on the occasion, Yhoshü called upon the people to maintain tradition at the same time accommodate new ideas to usher in positive changes in this fast-changing world.
He also stated that one can no more afford to be rigid and obsolete, getting stuck in ruts and doctrines alone but willing to respond with all the best that is in everyone.
Exhorting the villagers, he said it was the responsibility of the villagers to nurture and bring GMS to maturity to benefit the children.
He also said no matter what one achieves, his, her root would still remain weak unless village schools improve.
Admitting that much has to be done, he assured the government will provide more rooms, appoint more teachers and provide more facilities.
He also urged the villagers to resolve to work as a team to nurture and maintain the upgraded GMS.
Earlier, DEO Kohima, Zaveyi Nyekha and ADC, SSA, Theyievilie delivered short speeches.
VEC Secretary Mosa Yhokha chaired the function while Zelolie Chale, VEC Chairman, Kigwema, delivered the vote of thanks.
The function was attended by village chairmen and leaders from all the neighboring villages.
