Mithuns vaccinated against FMD Thuvopisu

National Research Centre on Mithun (NRCM), Jarnapani and Porba along with KVK, Phek under their technology outreach programme conducted a vaccination programme of Mithun against foot and mouth disease (FMD) at Thuvopisu village one of the natural habitat of Mithun in Phek district from September 21 to 22.
Considering the epidemics of FMD among Mithun and other clover footed animals, the programme covered 100 Mithuns, along with vaccination, multivitamins and athelmintic medications for improvement of Mithun health.
In spite of inclement weather and pathetic road condition, the team led by Dr. C. Raj Khowa, director, NRCM and Dr. Kobu Khate veterinary officer NRCM along with a host of resource persons namely, Dr. Jayanta K. Chamuah, Dr. Prakash R.Dutta, Dr. Naresh Prasad and Dr. Z. Lekro, took pains to approach, help and uplift the economy of the rural populace through their noble programme.
Thuvopisumi community and Mithun farming community with other villages in the vicinity have extended gratitude for their noble deeds.
