MP Rajya Sabha Khekiho Zhimomi on Saturday said to achieve a comprehensive target implored by the government under the programmes Right to Education, sincere and dedicated role of the village education committees (VEC) with unflinching support of parents was a must.
Addressing the teachers, VECs, GBs and public leaders under Niuland sub-division at a coordination committee meeting of VEC Niuland sub –division, Zhimomi said each VEC should strive to emulate the correct system to create conducive environment for learning especially in rural sector and to exercise its power VEC as a non profit making venture towards a noble cause.
The MP also said teachers should not take teaching profession as a means for self survival but consider themselves as human machineries in the process of building a better prospect for humanity. He said office of DIS or DEO was also not an exception from the preview to exercise its duty to uproot malpractices in any levels.
Observing that the area lacked numerous infrastructures, the MP assured to extend cooperation in the process of building a magnanimous education system.
A press release issued by Samuel Swu press secretary MP Rajya Sabha stated the meeting deliberated on ill affects due to appointment of proxy teachers and viewed that proxy appointment should be done away with to pave way for the qualified candidates.
The house decided to conduct further meetings to follow up the progress and redress the educational system in the four areas.
The meeting held at ADC conference hall Niuland was attended by Niuland ADC Hokhuli, Atokhe SDO (C) Nihokhu, EAC Aghunaqa Along, DIS Niuland Kitoli and VEC officials from all villages under Aghunaqa, Niuland, Zaka and Khaghaboto areas. The meeting was chaired by V. Pushika Aomi former NSF president.
