Peace Channel, the youth movement for peace and development has reached another milestone with its inauguration and induction programme at Bethel Higher Secondary School, Kohima on September 21 at the school auditorium.
Speaking on the occasion as the chief guest, Kevi, vice principal, Baptist High Hr. Sec. School Kohima said life has become chaotic as people are occupied with a lot of things, which he believed was at times, unconstructive and unfriendly to a person’s over all growth.
He opined that peace was a practical issue and said every individual should contribute in their own capacity beginning from oneself for which he challenged the students to set aside time in the morning for prayer/meditation to begin the day with a peaceful mind.
He also said the essence of peace was lacking in society and urged the gathering to be at peace with God and oneself to transcend peace to others.
Victor Kevilhouthie Yhome, coordinator of peace channel Kohima district expressed gratitude to the principal and authorities for realizing the need of peace and welcoming Peace Channel movement in the school, at the same time, welcomed all the peace club members to the family of Peace Channel.
He said peace was a challenging issue and urged all the students irrespective of the peace club to cooperate and support
Asalie, teacher in-charge, Peace Club, BHSS presided over the peace pledge where 28 students pledged to believe in peace always and everywhere as a peace channel member.
