Chamber of Commerce (COC) Tuensang has expressed dismay over the rise in trade license tax and revenue collection by members of Tuensang Town Council. COC president Y. Khumla Chang in a press release stated that despite repeated appeal to the Tuensang Town Council to stop hike and revision in trade license tax, no response was made so far. COC expressed concern that if revenues which had been collected for one and half year (twice) go on, the business within Tuensang town would deteriorate. COC also mentioned that as compared to other districts, taxes were collected in double from the business establishment in Tuensang. COC stated that it would be forced to shut down the business establishment from September 29 if its demand were not considered.
