Expressing concern over the temporary set up of School of Engineering, Technology, and Management (SETAM), the School of Engineering Students’ Council (SoESC), Nagaland University, has appealed to vice chancellor Prof K. Kannan to set up a permanent School of Engineering, Technology, and Management campus and to start developing it for the welfare of the university as well as the students.
SETAM, students’ council president, Menyawongto in an open letter to vice chancellor expressed concern that although the school was fully functional, the university was reluctant to make any further development in the current campus since it was a “temporary campus”.
Dimapur being the most viable location with easy access to airway and railway including association with other institutes and industries, the president was of the view that shifting of the campus elsewhere would prove inconvenient for students.
In this regard, the students’ council has appealed to Kannan to take the matter to the highest level and resolve the issue during his tenure as vice chancellor.
