Pochury civil societies (PCS) jointly organized the 50th anniversary of “Black Day” on September 6 at Sacred Freedom Park Matikhrü. Pochury Public Forum convener and president Chülekhu chaired the programme while Zhiwhuotho Katiry, who was a minor during the massacre, shared “living testimony”. Ex-Angh Leshimo P. Nyusou, ex-MLAs Khuotho and Rashutho, ex-PPF presidents Penthü and Thungchamo, and NSCN/GPRN steering committee member Zarüsie also spoke on the occasion. Leshimo P. Nyusou, one of the senior most pioneers of the community and “Naga national worker” unveiled a monolith erected in memory of martyrs. To commemorate the day and in memory of the martyrs, organizing committee brought out a souvenir entitled “Blood of the martyrs, tears of the survivor” which was released by Zarüsie. Dignitaries of various factions from Pochury community, senior leaders of NGOs and Pochury village leaders attended the programme.
