Akuluto Range Students’ Union (ARSU) has highlighted the plight of Government High School (GHS) Akuluto and appealed to education department to initiate positive steps into the matter at the earliest.
ARSU president Kavika Kinny stated in a press release that despite the transfer of assistant headmaster and science and math teachers of GHS Akuluto since 2009, there was still no replacement for any of those posts till date. Union stated that students of the school were being deprived due to lack of faculties.
Also taking note of health problems being faced by the present headmaster of the school, ARSU requested the department to replace the headmaster on health grounds. Union was of the view that GHS Akuluto being the only HSLC examination centre covering Atoizu and VK areas, the smooth functioning of the school would be hampered without the presence of the headmaster.
ARSU while appealing to the responsible authorities to look into its grievances, further stated that if department failed to comply with union’s appeal, ARSU would take its own course of action for which department would be held responsible, the release added.
