Rotary Club gifts hearse to Naga hospital Kohima

Rotary Club Kohima Hearse Project, especially meant for the poor people in the far flung areas was launched today at Naga Hospital Authority Kohima by minister for health & family welfare Küzholüzo (Azo) Nienu.
This project, costing Rs.7.2 lakhs, is under matching grant with Rotary International Director 5330, California, USA.
Stating that politicians were harassed several times specifically pointing out the need to hire a vehicle almost every week; he maintained that the project had eased the burden of the politicians. Azo said “the good news to all the rural areas is that they have a vehicle to take home the deceased”.
The minister also underscored the importance of private public partnership (PPP) mode while expressing happiness that it was taking shape in a grand manner in the state.
Stating that PPP mode was beginning to deliver health care services among others, he said people’s participation in health care was clearly visible with the likes of Rotary Club showing the way today. NHAK managing director, Dr. L. Angami stated that hearse was a long felt need and thanked the Rotary Club for donating it.
The hearse to transport dead bodies has a cushioned bed with 2 seats where a relative can sit with the deceased during the journey. Earlier, Rtn Dr. Kezevituo, Keditsu AKF, PHF, PP chaired the function while Rev. Moa Longchari, Pastor, Baptist Mission Church invoked God’s blessing and Rtn Kezhokhoto Savi, AKF, PP proposed the vote of thanks.
