Financial irregularities unearthed in DMC

Financial irregularities purportedly committed by the DMC prior to dissolution involving a total of `3.78 crore collected as advance from allotees of market stalls and unaccounted expenditure of `62 lakh from the collection, was revealed Thursday. Chief Advisor DMC Er.Keditsu disclosed that the money was collected by previous DMC members for construction of shops. While `62 lakh was shown as expenditure, yet there was no account on how the money was utilized, he said. Again Er.Keditsu disclosed that it was also yet to be ascertained as to where the balance amount of `3.16 crore was kept. He said so far, there was no record of all these financial dealings. It was also revealed that the then DMC body had even collected advance from allotees for construction of the third floor when even construction of the first floor had not started. Meanwhile, asked about the outcome of the meeting held earlier with the DMC Allottees Welfare Committee, Er Keditsu informed that the meeting ended with no objections from both sides. At the same time he also added that another meeting with the DMCAWC will be convened.
