As part of its preparation for 17th World Festival of Youth and Students (WFYS) scheduled to be held in December at Johannesburg South Africa, Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) has formed a National Preparatory Committee (NPC) of India at New Delhi Friday.
Informing this in a press release, DYFI Nagaland state committee stated that NPC has taken several decisions in order to ensure an effective campaign in the country for the festival. State committee also informed that NPC has requested member organizations to include youths and students delegates so that they could represent various aspects of India’s unity in diversity, while also resolving to request central and state governments to send representative delegation of young legislators to the 17th WFYS, the release added.
Meanwhile, as part of the WFYS campaign, the NPC has proposed to hold a national festival of youth and students at New Delhi during October-November.
The newly formed national committee would include Indian Youth Congress president Rajeev Satav as chairman and Tapas Sinha and K. Murugan as coordinators.
