Training for school, college principals: Principals, headmasters and head teachers of 96 schools Colleges and Schools, both government and private in Dimapur have been informed to attend training on “Eight all India school education survey” at Kuda Village Punchayat Hall (half-Nagarjan) on September 14 at by 9 am. District education officer, Asono Ndang would be addressing the training.
CM press conference: Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Monday will hold press conference at Niathu resort at 1 pm in connection with forth coming ‘World Bamboo Day’ which would be held at Kisama on September 18. Geology & mining dept informs: All LDA applicants who have earlier submitted application forms to the department of Geology and Mining have been informed to take the forma back and re-submit it to the department of P& AR department Kohima. Director geology and mining H.K Chishi has informed candidates to submit receipt issued to them earlier by the department.
Programme on entrepreneurs: Awareness programme on entrepreneur would be held on September 14 and 15 at the DC’s conference hall, Kohima at 10 a.m. All members of district level selection committee for selection of genuine entrepreneurs in pursuance to the ‘Year of entrepreneur’ have been informed to attend the meeting. District level selection committee are DC as chairman, deputy director (technical), directorate of Industries and commerce, Kohima, managing director NIDC Dimapur, representative of the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship Guwahati (expert), representative of SIDBI, branch manager from all the Bank in the district, district chamber of commerce and industries as members and general manager DIC Kohima as member secretary.
PACSU: An emergency meeting of Phokhungri Area College Students’ Union (PACSU) has been convened September 11, 10.30 am at the residence of Athrong, Bayavü Colony Kohima. All advisors, union officials and senior students have been requested to attend the meeting and to contact at 9612373929/ 9862586790 for information.
Trg on operation, processing animal feeds: Two-day training on operation and processing of animal feeds and rice mill would be conducted on September 22 and 23 at Agronag Centre, NSAMB office complex NE Expo site, 4th mile Dimapur. Unemployed youth have been informed to submit names to the office in-charge of NSAMB office on or before September 20. More information could be obtained from assistant marketing officer N. NSAMB office shifted: Office of the Nagaland State Agricultural Marketing Board (NSAMB) has been shifted to its office –cum- market complex, NE site 4th mile Dimapur. Nyeiwang to inaugurate DIER centre: Minister for Education & SCERT Nyeiwang Konyak would inaugurate Naharbari Centre of Dimensions Institute for Education & Research (DIER) on September 11, 11 am at ABC Building, Naharbari. The minister along with other dignitaries would also release the first management book in the state ‘Do Your Shoes Fit?’
NPF Peren meet: NPF Peren division meeting was held on September 10 at residence of its divisional president. In the meeting, the house passed resolutions to support Dr. Shurhozelie, chief minister Neiphiu Rio and T.R. Zeliang.
School education survey: Meeting of principals/head teachers/teacher-in-charges of both the Government and Private HSS/HS/MS/Primary Schools under Kuhuboto R.D. Block has been convened on September 13 at 11 am at GPS Town primary school, Half Nagarjan, Dimapur. Block education officer AISES Kuhuboto block, Jolly Zhimomi informed that meeting would deliberate on GHS V.K. town silver jubilee.
DEO Dimapur informs: District education officer, Asono Ndang has informed all PET, under government higher secondary/ high school under Dimapur district that an emergency meeting has convened on September 13, 11 am at DEO office chamber in regard to forth coming district level tournament to be held from September 21 to 24.
NPF refute members joining Congress
DIMAPUR: Reacting to a press statement on joining of 6 NPF members into Congress fold published in a local daily on September 10 issue, NPF Dimapur division termed the 6 NPF members as ‘UFOs’. Reiterating that NPF party was only interested in working for the welfare of the public and would not to indulge in “cheap propaganda” to gain undue credit from the press, NPF Dimapur division in-charge 1A/C vice president Kohaito Zhimomi stated that the unidentified six members were “perhaps UFOs”. NPF also stated that it wished any party to grow in strength rather than relying on the media for mere fame
Registered societies to report at office
DIMAPUR: All societies, organisations, unions, committees clubs, schools, colleges and other institutes under Dimapur registered under registration of societies Act 1860 or Public Trust Act in Kohima have been informed to report to the office at Supermarket Dimapur for compilation work during office hour from September 13 to 17. District statistical officer, Asangla Aier has informed those NGOs failing to report would be treated as defunct and that NGOs who had already reported need to report.
ANAATA clarifies
DIMAPUR: Stating that some individuals might have misconstrued its statement on Bharitiya Shiksha Parishad, the ANAATA said it was in “full support” of those teachers who passed out from that university and not otherwise. ANAATA president, Hekiye Liriki in a press statement said that in support of its claim with regard to the university, it has along with necessary relevant documents submitted a representation to the commissioner and secretary school education for necessary rectification and correction.
CYOD condemns murder
DIMAPUR: Chakhesang Youth Organization Diphupar (CYOD) has condemned the murder of Vetsüzo Veyie, secretary of Chakhesang Baptist Church, Toulazou who was mercilessly murdered and the auto rickshaw snatched away by the killer. The organization also appealed the authority to book the culprit’s at the earliest and award befitting punishment. CYOD also conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed the departed soul rest in peace.
Two discharged from FGN
DIMAPUR: Office of the deputy ‘kilonser’ (Lota) cum ‘Midanpeyu’ FGN, Sumi region has discharged Tokugha Sumi ‘Razoupeyu’ of Homeland village for defecting from FGN to other faction and Mukamishi (Izheto) of Mukamishi village for being absent from duty and not performing as committed. A press release issued by Midanpeyu FGN Sumi stated that both the incumbent have been terminated with effect from September 8.
Chang cultural troupe to perform at CWG
DIMAPUR: In view of the forthcoming Commonwealth Games 2010, New Delhi, the Nagaland Government would be sending the Chang Cultural Troupe, Tuensang, for participation in the cultural programme.
The strong contingent of 50 male artistes would be led by Vevo Sapu, Deputy Director, Art and Culture, Nagaland.
PGSU (L) meeting held
DIMAPUR: PGSU (L) executive meeting was held on September 9 with election commission, headed by its president Vikazhe Chishi, with Aoneken Walling, Tsomongthe Sangtam, Avika Awomi, Benngam Konyak and Asabong Imchen as polling officers. Meanwhile, executive council election for the tenure 2010-2011 has been tentatively scheduled on September 13 and 14.
Seminar on Sumi tradition
DIMAPUR: Sumi Totimi Hoho would be organizing seminar on preserving traditional and cultural dresses of Sumis on September 15, 8.30 at Youth Hall. STH, Nagaland has informed all presidents and colleagues of Sumi Hoho Nagaland, Sumi Mesho mipi Zunheboto, Sumi Mesho mipi Western Sumi Dimapur, Sumi Kukami Hoho Zunheboto, Sumi Kiphimi Kuqhakulu(SKK), Sumi Kukami Hoho Zunheboto area, executive secretary SBAK Aizuto and Nito Mount, all pastors/youth pastors and woman pastors of Zunheboto town and village Churches, GB’s and STH chairperson of Sumi villages and all STH unit presidents and colleagues to attend the programme. STH (N) has also convened meeting on September 14, 2 pm at the STH Conference Hall opp. DC Office Zunheboto.
Finance dept notifies
DIMAPUR: In supercession of earlier notifications issued on the Revision of Pay, the finance department has issued revised notification for fixation purpose with actual cash benefits from April 1, 2010 and to give additional arrear of pay for one month. According to an official bulletin, the notification was in pursuance of the decision of the state government to implement Revision of Pay for its employees notionally, w.e.f. June 1, 2008.
Stolen trucks recovered
DIMAPUR: Two trucks which were reported stolen were recovered by Dimapur police and three persons arrested. In the first case, based on inputs received from Tezpur police, Dimapur police conducted a search operation and recovered the truck (AS21-2361) from Ghorapatti area. Three persons identified as Md Abdul Haque, Daniel Sema and Hatovi Sema were also apprehended by the police from different locations. It was reported that the accused were demanding Rs 4 lakh for releasing the truck.
While in the second case, another truck (NL07A 0329) which was reported stolen from Ghorapatti area was found abandoned at Tolozuma village. Staff Reporter
2 held for cable theft in Wokha
DIMAPUR: A team of Wokha police personnel apprehended to persons on charges of telephone cable theft, which is rampant in and around Wokha town. The two were identified as Myanbemo Lotha son of late Tsenyimo Lotha of Koio village and Tsenronthung Lotha son of Kakao Lotha of Nungying village. A press release issued by OC Wokha Benrio stated that the two arrested were habitual offenders.
