State government today announced that it has constituted a panel for reviewing and monitoring the programmes under Jawaharlal Nehru Urban Renewal Mission (JNURM) at district level.
An official notification from urban development commissioner and secretary J. Alem, the review and monitoring committee would be chaired by MP, Lok Sabha CM Chang and assisted by DMC chairperson, DC Dimapur, CTC member Thepfülhoutuo Shyuya and former DMC member Thunchangthung as members while urban development secretary Norman Putsure as member secretary. The JNURM programmes include urban infrastructure development scheme for small and medium towns (UIDSSMT) and integrated housing and slum development programme (IHSDP).
According to commissioner and secretary the committee would review physical and financial progress of projects, reforms, bottlenecks in implementation of reforms and convergence of projects and other initiatives at the city/district level with the JNURM.
Besides, the committee has to meet quarterly and conduct review of implementation of projects and reforms. It also needed to submit minutes of meetings and recommendations to the ULBs, SLNAs and state government.
