15 NAP (IR) Mahila departs to Delhi

Personnel of 15 NAP (IR) Mahila battalion Saturday left for Delhi by train for the upcoming Common Wealth Games (CWG), scheduled to be held from October 3 to 14.
The Mahila personnel comprising of 6 companies led by its dy. commandant (2i/c), Asenla left Dimapur Saturday evening. Unit commandant Meren, who was at the train station to see them off, expressed confidence that the girls would do well.
Maintaining that it was a good exposure trip for the girls, the 15 NAP CO said senior police officials has also briefed them sufficiently.
Asked about their nature of duty, Meren said it would be made known only by Delhi police officials. Further, he added that the battalion would return home only after the conclusion of CWG. Meren said he would be joining the battalion in Delhi shortly. The Mahila personnel were also deployed for field duty in Dimapur before the CWG mission. A medical team led by CMO Dr Chubala was also deputed along with the unit.
It may be mentioned that 10th NAP (IR) has also been deployed in West Bengal for anti-Naxal operations.
