3 killed in Tuensang

At least three persons were killed and other three fatally injured when heavy boulders and mud fell on them in the jungles of Chungtor village, some 6 km away from Longkhim sub-division, Tuensang Saturday. According to sources, the incident occurred at around 12:15 p.m. when the village council and Mithun owner had gone to repair the suspension bridge and clear the tracks of Mithun. Sources also disclosed that they were working in two groups— one group was clearing the tracks of Mithun while the other group was repairing the suspension bridge. The source added that suddenly heavy boulders and mud started to fall upon them, which ultimately claimed three lives were and grievously injuring other three. The deceased were identified as Chungtor GB cum VEC chairman Mayangba, Chungtor village GPS I/c W. Lipongse and Chomukhi village guard personnel. While the injured persons were admitted to civil hospital Longkhim. Their conditions were stated to be critical till the time of filing this report.
