One day training cum seed distribution programme for frontline demonstration programme on rabi pulses was conducted by KVK (ICAR),Wokha on September 10 at KVK conference Hall, Wokha.
The resource person for the programme were Lireni Kikon, plant protection and Megokhono Meyae, SMS (Horticulture) as resource person who interacted with the farmers participants on pest and disease management and package of practices respectively.
The aims and objectives of the frontline demonstration programme was highlighted by N. Khumdemo Ezung, programme coordinator (i/c) who also encouraged the farmers to produce seeds on their own instead of depending on the market for supply of seeds as most of the seeds are not available on time.
He also highlighted to the farmers about the seed village concept and also mutually agreed on buy back policy of whatever amount of seeds that they will produce.
Earlier the programme was chaired by Mhalo Tungoe, SMS (Extension).
Altogether there were 7 numbers of SHGs from the three adopted villages viz.Longsachung, Longsa and Wokha Village consisting about 70 farmers.
Rabi pulse such as pea variety Arkel and French bean (Tuensang Local Kholar) was distributed to the participants free of cost.
