Passenger Reservation System (PRS) counter at the post office premises was formally launched in Mokokchung on Monday by MP, Lok Sabha, C. M Chang.
The MP in his speech expressed gratitude to the centre and the ministry of railways for extending the facility at the door step.
He said the move would mitigate to a great extent the problem of traveling to nearby railway stations for booking tickets.
He said the PRS at Mokokchung would also cover Zunheboto, Tuensang and Longleng districts till the facilities were extended to them.
Chang also informed that PRS facility was launched at Wokha.
Lok Sabha MP said PRS facilities were extended to all special category states by railway authority for which he thanked the minister for railway for their concern to the people of special category states, stated an official bulletin.
The inaugural function was also attended by deputy commissioner Mokokchung, Lithrongla G. Chishi, senior officers, Railway officials and public leaders.
