Azheto urges youth to be agents of change

Expressing concern over the ever increasing unemployment problem and the lack of employment opportunities in the state, advisor co-operation and sericulture and MLA, Azheto Zhimomi on Tuesday said the government service today was almost on the brink of saturation and that it was impossible for the government to assure gainful employment to all qualified aspirants.
Speaking as the chief guest at the 29th general conference of the Dimapur Kyong Students’ Union on the theme, “Visualizing our vision towards excellence”, the MLA said the output of educated youth was increasing by leaps and bounds whereas opportunities are becoming lesser each year.
To address this grievance, the government has been receptive to tackle the burning issue and address it in the best possible manner, Azheto said.
According to him, the government instead of remaining mum has been exploring fresh avenues for job opportunities in unconventional areas of music, sports and tourism.
He further stated the government while trying to provide platform to the talented and upcoming entrepreneurs has already framed programmes and policies by declaring “Youth Empowerment” and “Year of Entrepreneurs”.
The chief guest who is representing Dimapur III assembly constituency also urged the Kyong students to put in more effort, visualize and evaluate their weakness in order to achieve excellence. Stating that lack of unity and vision often lead to conflict and strife in politics within Churches or any other organization, he called upon the youths to be the agents of social change. He also donated Rupees one lakh towards the welfare of the Dimapur Kyong Students’ Union.
Guest of honour, former general secretary Naga Hoho and business entrepreneur, Dr. John Murry urged students to maintain discipline and hard work in order to become successful in their future endeavor.
Member of Dongpi Chokae and president DNSU, Medo delivered greetings, while chairman, Lotha Hoho Dimapur, Ntsemo Ngullie and chairman Lotha GBs Union Dimapur, Thungbemo exhorted the gathering. Merit students of HSLC and HSSLC were felicitated on the occasion. The second session, valedictory-cum-combined freshers’ meet was graced by SDO Electrical Dimapur, Albert Ovung.
