Jalukie water pipeline damaged
DIMAPUR, sep 15 (NPN): The main water supply pipeline measuring 80 mm diameter was completely damaged due to a landslide near Tselseo River near water tapping source Wednesday morning. According to Junior Engineer PHE Meren Jamir, the restoration work would take about two week since the landslide had completely damaged the water pipeline. He also requested denizens of Jalukie town to bear with PHE department and for the inconvenience caused. (Staff Reporter)
MVYO mass social work
DIMAPUR: Meriema Village Youth Organization (MVYO) would be organizing mass social work on September 17 from 9 am onwards. Meanwhile, MVYO has informed that it would enforce ban on hunting, fishing, collecting of firewood and raw materials, burning of jungle and picnics within Meriema jurisdiction. Organization also cautioned to take action against anyone found in inebriated state or using any intoxicants under its jurisdiction.
NCWA executive meeting
DIMAPUR: Nagaland Catholic Women Association (NCWA) will hold its executive meet from October 2-4 at St. Joseph Parish Chumukedima, Dimapur. All executive members, tribal/regional presidents and general secretaries and former executive members have been requested to attend the meet.
GYCD 32nd foundation day
DIMAPUR: Gorkha Youth Club Dimapur (GYCD) would observe its 32nd foundation day on September 19, 10.30 am at Rotary Club Dimapur. GYCD has requested Dimapur Gorkha Union, Gorkha Mothers’ Association, Gorkha Hindu Milan Seva Sangh, Gorkha Students’ Union, Nepali Mandir Samiti, Nepali gaon and all GYCD unit members to attend the programme.

DIMAPUR: Emergency meeting of Under-graduate Ad-Hoc Government Teachers (UGAGT) under Zunheboto district those who are awaiting the result of teacher interview conducted in 2003 has been convened on September 18, 10 am at Heritage Restaurant, Project Colony, Zunheboto. Director, youth resource & sports informs
DIMAPUR: Director, youth resource and sports, Sachopra Vero has informed that both the indoor badminton and T.T. stadium would be utilized for the purpose of VVIP visit. And would be “out of bound” for the public utility from September 15 to 18. Public have been requested to bear with the arrangement.
Education dept inform graduate teachers
DIMAPUR: Additional director, school education, N, Khevito Sema has informed all graduate teachers who have been regularized after 1993 to submit their documents for the seniority list preparation. Documents including appointment order, regularization order, graduation certificates, HSLC certificates and B. Ed. certifcate if any should be submitted on or before September 30. The office would not entertain/accept document/complaint whosoever after the last date.
Government reminds job seekers
DIMAPUR: State government has once again reminded all local job seekers that it had on September 9 advertised 95 posts of directorate LDAs and 203 posts of district LDAs, which would be filled up on the basis of a common recruitment examination. Reiterating that applications for directorate LDAs ought to be submitted to P&AR department and applications for district LDAs to respective deputy commissioners of the districts, the state chief secretary Lalthara, in a press note, said last date for submission of application was September 21, adding that there would be no extension of the deadline. Also, stating that application form was indicated in the advertisement itself, the CS said it could also be downloaded from Nagaland government web site.

Interview for PMEGP Mon
DIMAPUR: Interview for PMEGP beneficiaries in Mon would be conducted on September 30 at the conference hall of deputy commissioner, Mon. General manager; DIC & Member Secretary DLTFC for PMEGP Mon has informed all beneficiaries who have applied for PMEGP to submit their original documents in support of their candidature. He further informed that no separate calling letters would be issued.
Legation camp in Mon
DIMAPUR: Legation (Tube tied) camp would be organized shortly at Civil Hospital, Mon citizens on Mon town. In this connection, Dr. M.A. Wati, Medical Superintendent (MS) Mon has requested patients wanting to undergo tube legation to register their names on September 15 and 16 at Civil Hospital, Mon during OPD hours only and avail the opportunity.
Youth renewal feast 2010
DIMAPUR: Dimapur Phom Baptist churches would be organizing a three day “Youth renewal feast 2010” from September 17 on the theme, “Restore the image of Christ”. Rev Kilang Jamir and Phomlee Van Pastor Kohima Phom Baptist church would be the main speaker and church elders and Bethel fellowship Dimapur would be the counselor throughout the programme. All youth have been requested to contact their respective colonies fellowship in charge for transportation.

DIMAPUR: Meeting of Zunheboto Government College Alumni Association (ZGCAA) has been convened on September 17, 2 pm at the residence of its secretary, Hokishe Kiba.
Advocacy program deferred
DIMAPUR: The advocacy programme for Kohima district on non-HIV NGOs and civil societies has been postponed to September 25 and the advocacy programme for IOCs AND LGP sectors postponed to September 27 at Hotel Japfü.
Youth training at Showuba
DIMAPUR: Yimchungrü Baptist Borü Amukhungto Youth Department would be organising youth training under Dimapur range from September 17 to 19 at Showuba Baptist Church on the theme “Christian youth faith and profound identity of work” with Dr. Moa Imsung, Councilor DABA and Y. MSU condoles
DIMAPUR: Merangkong Students Union (MSU) Merangkong has mourned the demise of ex-minister Merachiba and also deputy director (rtd) of sports & youth affairs, M. Odi Imsong. A condolence message issued by union president Imtichiba and general secretary Martila stated that demise of the two important personalities of Merangkong village was a great loss to the people of Merangkong village. The union further conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members.

Plea to restore power in Kiphire
DIMAPUR: Kiphire District Voluntary consumer organization has appealed the Chief Engineer Power, Nagaland to restore power in Kiphire at the earliest as the student community and citizens were undergoing untold sufferings due to break down of the “age old” transformer. KDVCO urged the department to provide new transformer for Kiphire so citizens would enjoy uninterrupted power supply.
