A day after the GPRN/NSCN decided not to attend the highest-level leadership meeting of the NNC/FGN, GPRN/NSCN and NSCN (I-M), the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) has made a “special appeal” to the leaders of the three Naga political groups to demonstrate their commitment and sincerity to the signing of the Covenant of Reconciliation by attending the proposed reconciliation meet.
FNR said since the Covenant of Naga Reconciliation was signed by the leaders of NNC/FGN, GPRN/NSCN and NSCN (I-M), the highest level meeting would not be complete without the presence and participation of all the three groups. “Therefore for the sake of Naga Reconciliation and in the common interest of the Naga future, the Forum for Naga Reconciliation on behalf of the Naga people request the leaders of the three Naga Political groups to demonstrate their commitment and sincerity by attending the highest level reconciliation meeting,” FNR said in its special appeal.
FNR said it was making the appeal as per the prayers of the Naga people and the warm solidarity received from across the world towards the reconciliation process.
Meanwhile, the United Naga Council, Manipur; Naga Women’s Union, Manipur and All Naga Students’ Association, Manipur have extended support and solidarity to the initiative of the FNR for the “highest level talk of the Naga political groups.
A joint statement by three bodies said they expected all political groups to come forward for the sake of peace in the land and wished for a successful and fruitful meeting.
They also lauded the initiative of the FNR in signing of the “Covenant of Reconciliation” by three Naga political groups and also the formation of the Joint Working Group.
