GPS inaugurated at Xelhozhe, Aoyim

The recently recognized government primary schools (GPS) at Xelhozhe, and Aoyim village were inaugurated on Thursday by Sedevikho Khro, ADC Dimapur as the chief guest.
“Nagas are at transaction stage from underdevelopment to developing society and for the process everyone’s participation is essential and required” said, Sedevikho Khro, while addressing the inaugural programme at Xelhozhe and Aoyim.
Stressing on quality education in government run schools, Sedevikho lamented that despite having qualified and trained teachers and government granting enough funds in developing the schools, the government schools were not at par with private run schools that have less qualified teachers and with no funds at their disposal.
Challenging the village education committee members to be more involved and responsible in the education process of the villages, he said the main role of the VECs was not only infrastructure but being involved in the whole educational process under their care.
The chief guest also said apart from funds provided in constructing school buildings, the villages should involve themselves by contributing more so that along with the funds provided by the government, the village could use them for developmental activities.
Khro also stressed on community participation in developing the undeveloped areas in the state.
On education, he said schools need to revive the basic value of education, and that schools need to educate children on what to choose in order positive impact on their future.
Sedevikho also urged both the villages to utilize funds; facilities such as roads, electricity, water, schools and various others provided by the government and urged them to be responsible in paying their dues to the state government.
Asono Ndang, DEO Dimapur speaking at Xelhozhe stressed on the judicious utilization of funds provided by the government and transparency in executing the developmental activities.
She also lauded the VECs for the fine workmanship put in while completing the school building.
Khetoshe, DIS Dimapur at Aoyim stressed on the three important foundations for student. He said role of parents, teachers and the students themselves were the three most important foundations in the development of students.
“All these three foundations need to synchronize and co-operate in order to mould the future of the students”, he said.
Earlier at Xelhozhe village, VEC chairman, Huska Zhimo while delivering the welcome address thanked the SSA officials for providing funds and co-operating with the villagers in completing the project within a short span of time.
Others who were present on the occasion included officials from the education department, SSA officials, village Church leaders and village council members.
Meanwhile, the Xelhozhe village students union thanked chief guest Sedevikho Khro ADC Dimapur, the SSA officials for their untiring guidance and support towards the construction of the school building.
