‘Back to the Roots’
KOHIMA: Interactive meeting on the theme ‘Back to the Roots’ initiated and adopted by Kohima DPDB would be held on October 22 in Kohima region, at 10am at DC’s conference hall and Tseminyu region on October 26, 10 a m at ADC’s conference hall Tseminyu.
Ministers’ conference
DIMAPUR: Spirit of Faith Church would be organising ‘Ministries conference’ from October 17 to 24 with guest speakers from USA and Bangalore at Church premises at Kuda village, Nagarjan.
Machineries operation trg
DIMAPUR: Training on operation of machineries and equipments and pop corn, ginger paste and powder and noodle processing unit would be conducted from October 26 to 28 from 9 am at Agronag centre NSAMB office complex, 4th mile, Dimapur.
NDWU meeting
DIMAPUR: Nagaland drilling workers union (NDWU) directorate of geology & mining Dimapur, has convened its 33rd general meeting on October 15, 10am at its treasurer residence, forest colony, Dimapur. All members have been requested to attend the meeting.
CSUD meeting
DIMAPUR: Chang student’s union Dimapur (CSUD) has convened its 12th annual general meeting on October 15, 10:30 am at the residence of union treasurer. All students have been requested to attend the meeting.

DIMAPUR: Woramong Gazetted Officers Telongjem (WGOT) has convened an emergency executive meeting on October 23, 11 am at the residence of its treasurer Dr. K. Chuba Ao. All executives have been requested to attend the meeting.
Kohima DPDB meet
DIMAPUR: In view of Durga Puja holidays, meeting of Kohima District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) would be held October 18 at 12:30 noon.
DCC meeting
DIMAPUR: Meeting of Dimapur district Congress Committee (DCC) has been convened on October 16, 11am at Congress Bhavan. All DCC executive, frontal chiefs and ACCC president of Dimapur district have been informed to attend the meeting.
BAPK meeting
Dimapur: Bayavu area panchayat (BAP) Kohima would hold its general meeting on October 23, 10am at government primary school hall near directorate of census operation, Bayavu hill Kohima. The meeting would discuss various agendas and passing of resolutions concerning the welfare of colony, election of new office bearers of Bayavu youth organization (BYO) and Bayavu area panchayat (BAP). All office bearers, executive members of BAP and one member from every house of the colony have been requested to attend the meeting.
Women’s rights campaign: An awareness campaign program on Women’s Rights will be held on October 23, at Longkumer Kilem Mokokchung from 10am. The program is jointly organized by Mokokchung Law College and State legal Service Authority. The main speaker for the program will be Prof. A Lanunungsang, Dean of Social Sciences, Nagaland University Lumami. The program will also include interactive session which will be moderated by Dr. Kilangla Jamir Associate Professor & Head of Department of Economics, NU Lumami.
Ahuna festival social work: In view of forthcoming Ahuna festival of Sumis to be organized by Adhoc town committee at Khuboto town, all patta site holders in and within Kuhuboto town have been notified to clean their respective sites before November 1. On failing to comply with the notification, Kuhuboto adhoc town committee said fine of Rs.1, 500 would be imposed per site.
Bible, painting competition: Chakhesang Baptist Church Council Dimapur Area (CBCCDA) Sunday school department would be organizing Bible quiz and painting competition on October 16, 10 am at Chakhesang Baptist Church Dimapur. All Sunday school units have been informed to participate in the competitions and also to submit two photos for 2011 calendar.
SBC biennial conference: Sümi Baptist Convention (SBC) would hold its 11th biennial conference on October 22 and 24 at Trinity Theological College, Thahekhu Dimapur on the theme “Re-visioning the Church Ministry”. All Churches under SBC (SBAK, Nito Mount, SABAK, Pughoboto WSBAK, Akuvuto) have been informed to send three delegates and ordained ministries under SBC to bring ministry gowns for ordination service.
ORCC committee meeting: Golden jubilee core committee members of St Peter’s catholic Church old Riphyim village has convened a meeting on October 16, 9 am at the residence of Tsumongo Anthony Ngullie, SDO PWD (R&B) lower NST colony, Wokha to discuss various agendas relating the forthcoming golden jubilee.
KLOU meeting: All Lotha (Kyong) gazetted officer has convened a general meeting on October 23, 10 am at Wokha town.
St Andrew’s alumni association: The past pupils of St Andrew’s school held its first general meeting on October 2 at school premises and formed its association under the name ‘St Andrew’s school Jotsoma alumni association’, with Khrieketouto Nisa as president, Kezhalhusieno Rino as secretary and Vikho Naprantsu as treasurer.
ANFSA: All Nagaland field staff association (ANFSA) has convened its annual general meeting on October 20, 10 am at PWD panchayat hall Kohima. All units have been requested to attend the meeting along with 5 to 10 members as the association would be conducting election for the new team office bearers for 2010-2014.
YSUK freshers day: Yimchungru student union Kohima (YSUK) celebrated its freshers day cum general meeting on October 9 at Japfü women Baptist society hall PWD junction, Kohima with Yimso Jangru as the chief guest. YSUK has also elected its new office bearers with Khiongmong as president and Luntsuba as general secretary.
PMEGP interview: Interview for selection of PMEGP beneficiaries for 2010-11 under Kiphire district would be held on October 22, 10 am at DC’s conference hall Kiphire.
CUD general meet: Chang Union Dimapur (CUD) has convened its annual general meeting on October 30, 10 am at the residence of its treasurer S. Nükshu, Opposite DC Court Dimapur.
KBYED youth retreat: Khiamniungan Baptist Youth Endeavour Dimapur (KBYED) would be organizing a one-day youth retreat on October 16 at Noune Resort with Resource Centre Dimapur executive director Rev. Dr. Coppe Mero and research executive Dr. Adela Mero as resource persons. NAU meeting: Nahorjan Ao Union (NAU) of Karbi Anglong, Diphu road (Assam), has convened a general meeting on October 16, 10 am at its treasurer’s residence, near Assam Gate Diphu road. Union members/ land owners of Nahorjan have been requested to attend the meeting and submit yearly membership of Rs.200.
CAKU social work: Chakhro Angami Kuda Union (CAKU) would be organizing social work-cum-picnic on October 16 at CAKU office premises, Phevima from 8 am onwards. Constituent villages/colonies have been requested to depute 10 volunteers each along with their own dao, shovel or spade etc.
NNKE meeting: Nagarjan Nkonjan Kyong Ekhung (NNKE) Dimapur has convened a general meeting on October 16, 10 am at the residence of its chairman Motsuo Ezung.
RSBY card renewal: Labour department would be conducting RSBY (health card) renewal in Phek from October 20-31, and from October 20-22 at Phek division; October 23-25 at Meluri division; October 26-28 at Pfutsero division and October 29-31 at Chozuba division. ASUK golden jubilee: Ao students’ Union Kohima would be celebrating its golden jubilee on the theme ‘In rhythm with the times’ at Naga Heritage village, Kisama on October 16. Home Minister, Imkong L. Imchen and minister for PHED, Dr. Ngangshi K Ao will be the chief guest for first and second session respectively with Director General, Prison, Home Guard & Civil Defence, O. Alem, IPS as the theme speaker.
JDU state level meeting: Janata Dal United (JDU) state level office bearers meeting would be held on October 16, 2 pm at Hotel Saramati.
District Hd. DBs: All district head DBs and golden jubilee history committee members meeting would be held on October 19, 10 am at DBs community hall Kohima.
ZWS meeting: Zeliang welfare society camp, Dimapur has convened an executive meeting on October 16, 10 am at Zeliang welfare society Eros lane, Dimapur.
KBES CNY directors & superintendent meet: All the directors and superintendent of Christian Ntsinran Yangro (CNY) of all Baptist churches under Kyong Baptist Ekhumkho Sanrhyutsu (KBES) would be organizing its yearly meet on October 30-31 at Longsachung Baptist church.
NAP/IR recruits attestation parade: Commandant, NAP training centre has informed that the 49th batch NAP/IR recruits attestation parade would be held on October 27, 9 am at NAPTC stadium. K. Kire IPS, director general of police would be the chief guest.
ENSF meeting: An emergency meeting of the Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) has been convened on October 17 at 2 pm at DUDA guest house Kohima.
JNV, Khensa form submission: Administrator, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) Khensa, Mokokchung has informed all parents that last date for submission of JNV selection test application form has been extended to October 30.
NCRC Sumi Ayinato leadership seminar: NCRC Sumi Sub-Council Ayinato Centre is organizing a two day leadership seminar on October 29 and 30, 10 am at Ayinato Healing and Prayer Centre, Vihokhu with Dr. Hesheto Chishi, director, indigenous culture as resource person. All pastors, women leaders, Church secretary, deacon board chairman and sub-council members under Ayinato centre have been informed to attend the seminar.
SSU meeting: A meeting of Sanis Students Union (SSU) has been convened on October 17 at Panchayat hall, Sanis village to deliberate on the forth coming 55th annual session. All presidents, executives, advisors and former presidents have been requested to attend the meeting.
Doyang fish for sale: Department of fisheries would be selling fresh Doyang fish at P.R Hill Junction on October 14 from 7am to 5pm.
Grant-in aid-for private schools
DIMAPUR: Department of education has fixed June 30 every year for receiving of application for grant-in-aid from all private schools under Kohima. According to DC Kohima, Beiu-U Angami, the DPDB Kohima in its monthly meeting held on September 23 decided that no grant-in aid application received after the prescribed date would be deliberated. DC further informed that screening committee would be constituted whereby applications should be compiled and put up on the board only in the next financial year as per the schedule fixed by the department.
Durga Puja greetings
DIMAPUR: BJP, Nagaland has extended greetings to the state citizens of Hindu community on the occasion of Shree Shree Durga Puja celebration which signifies the victory of good over evil. State BJP expressed that the message of the Puja should always be an inspiration to aspire to follow the right path for all round spiritual and material uplift of all.
BJYM elects new team
DIMAPUR: State Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) has elected Vikhuho Dominic as district BJYM president, Mathew K. Zanger as BJYM secretary in-charge of Tuensang and Mon districts and Chow Ambeka Engling national executive members of Arunachal given charge of Nagaland by Anurag Thakur M.P National President BJYM. Meanwhile, the party in its meeting on October 9 passed a resolution on party organization matter and other activities.
NHSS conducts meet
DIMAPUR: Dimapur Namghar Higher Secondary, School (NHSS) conducted a meeting for class11 on October 8 in the school premise in the presence of advisor, secretary of the Dimapur Namghar Trust Board (DNTB) G. Sharma and Ganesh Bhuyan, principal and lecturers. The meeting deliberated on the present activities for better prospects of the school.
NWS new team
Kohima: Nagabazar Welfare Society (NWS) elected a new team of office bearers for the tenure 2010-12 during its general meeting on September 22 at Nagabazar Panchayat Hall. The team is led by Nihokhu Chishi as president, Tepulhovi Sophie as vice president, Seyiekhrietuo Kelio as general secretary, Kekhrieselhou Pienyü as assistant general secretary and Thochwu Semy as treasurer.
NSUI condemns
DIMAPUR: National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), Nagaland has condemned the barbaric act of destrying the Congress Bhavan by some vested interest on October 5 night. The union also appealed the law enforcing agency to book the culprit under relevant IPC to avoid such incident in near future.
NPF 46 A/C welcomes
DIMAPUR: NPF 46 A/C Mon town has welcomed the decision of former Congress party leader of Mon district Wanglong Konyak to join NPF party. According to NPF 46 A/C Mon general secretary Bongei Konyak, constituency party office has received copy of Wanglong’s resignation from Congress party on October 7. While welcoming his decision to join NPF to work under the leadership of state chief minister Neiphiu Rio, the NPF party expressed hope that Wanglong would make efforts to strengthen the party at the district.
